what is the reason the trail is off limits to bicycles? will a bicycle hurt/endanger/ruin flora, fauna, ecosystem? or is it because people don't want bicycles racing around on their trails?

as long as no harm is being done, there is no reason to not ride a bike somewhere if you aren't endangering or bothering others.

i also run red lights at intersections AFTER i've stopped and seen that i am the only person sitting there at a 4 way, waiting for the light to change. i also turn left at right turn only places as long as i'm not causing any traffic chaos or affecting anyone else.

i'm not going to blindly follow rules or signs or marks on the road just because they are there. we are cognitive reasoning beings, we should act appropriately according to the situation.

the only difference between "riding" and "poaching" is an inanimate metal sign. all other conditions are the same.

if a trail is "off limits" because they don't want cyclists bothering other users, i will ride it when no one is around, because there is no real actual valid reason not to ride it.

If you've never broken a rule that makes no sense, I feel sorry for you. You must seriously lack independent thought. All rules are there for a reason, but not all rules were instated to solve problems that every person causes. For example: Does the 21-year-old drinking age mean that no minor is capable of drinking responsibly? Does the 18 year old tobacco-purchasing age mean that cigarettes are less harmful to 17.9-year-old than an 18-year-old? Does a 55mph speed limit mean that no person is capable of safely driving 56mph? I could go on for hours, but I think you get the point.

Moreso than actually poaching the trail, what comes across as really dumb to me is he filmed the sign at the beginning of the video. So he shows what trail he's on illegally, and that he's on it illegally. Have I ever been on trails I wasn't supposed to be on? Yeah, shame on me. Would I even consider disclosing the location of said trails online, and then flaunting that I ride them? No, absolutely not.

The analogies you guys are making are not comparable at all to the situation we are discussing. It is private property, and for you to decide how to interpret or regard/disregard posted rules/regulations is superfluous. Respect the land and the wishes of the owner of that land. If you can't or don't want to do that, then go somewhere else.

I get what you're saying though. You're right, my analogies were less than comparable to the situation, I was just too lazy to think of something more comparable. And I still agree that he shouldn't have ridden on the trails for the same reasons you just mentioned. The only point I was trying to convey is that there are certain rules that certain people can break without causing harm to anyone else.

Jeez probably the last vid this guy will ever post on this site. To the OP, cool vid and keep riding hard. At least somebody is using those trails to have some fun. Whats worse than a hiking trail used for biking? A trail that doesn't get used at all. As you stated doesn't look like they had seen a lot of use as of late.
