saw this the other day on Pinkbike. Very cool piece. Love how they are all about respecting the mountain not just finding the fastest way down it.

What's up with that song anyhoo?
field report to you oh my god
field report to you oh my god
i wasted your time
field report to you oh my god
field report to you oh my god
i wasted your time
sounds of children laughing makes my eyes bleed
the sounds of children laughing makes my eyes bleed
and my heart
teeter totters and daughters
teeter totters and daughters
are things Ill never have in my back yard
cause ill never have a back yard
field report to you oh my god
field report to you oh my god
i've wasted your time
a field report to you oh my god
a field report to you oh my god
i've wasted your time
Yes, you've also wasted my time. What's with music today? Nothing good to talk about anymore? Is this supposed to be artistic?
I think we should move this thread to foo and discuss the idiocy of song lyrics instead of discussing this video again.

Fun video - thanks for posting. The mountain scenes were a nice start to my morning while I sipped some hot tea. The music was well matched to the guys who were in the video and that's part of the artistic expression...I've seen so many heavy metal/hiphop fueled MTB vids that some other kind of music is a nice change!...

C'mon, it's Loch Lomond. If it works for Danny MacAskill it's gotta work for epic German mountaineering cyclist, ja?

No - it's a free internet. I'm just trying to understand why you are putting so much negative energy into criticizing a decent video that a BF member took the time to share?
You don't have to like it - that's why there is more than one style of music or cinematography in the world, but come on give the OP a break. It's great that folks share stuff like videos and photos. It would be nice if they didn't have to deal with aggressive criticism...
Doesn't make other BF members want to share something down the road.

Hahahaa! vik's worried that Phil's gonna be hurt if anyone lightheartedly jokes about the soundtrack to a video Phil loves so much he made a bunch of threads about it?
Hilarious.
Why are some Canadiens so uptight?

Calm down y'all. I was just kidding around. It's a good video. Already stated that it's been shared recently, thus I was going to bring light to something else. If you want to find this video and watch it again when this thread drifts away, just click the VidYo's link in my sig. It's in there with a ton of other really cool ones. I already commented that I liked this video in another thread, but vik is correct in calling me out on my negativity. I should keep my mouth shut when the only thing fixin' to leave it is negative.
Thx for protecting the peeps. You're a good guy.

Canadiens are so mad cause they got all that border and no fences.
On the other hand, I gotta give Ed credit where its due - sometimes his **** makes me laugh hard enough to get other people's attention at work - so bonus to him for it.

I enjoyed both the video & Ed's comments. I don't think I would have otherwise noticed the absurd lyrics of that song...gave me a good laugh.
Though I will point out that the video was like a 90:10 ratio of scenery-footage:MTBing, which is waayy backwards. I get it, it's a pretty mountain...I have an entire folder of those that alternate as my computer's background. When I watch a MTB video, I generally prefer to see MTBing.

When watching mountain bike videos, I would rather hear the clicking and popping noises than my favorite song. Is there anyone who prefers music to the sound on a good quality mountain biking video?

I usually prefer the field audio. Occasionally wind noise can get be pretty bad on helmet or bike mounted cams, however.

Depends on the production quality. If it's sync'd up to the audio from a better mic, yeah I absolutely prefer the natural sounds. But my GoPro sounds pritty ****ty from raw footage. For the average Joe's video, I prefer some music.

Uh, didn't you see in the video that real men drink espresso ? Sometimes you just seem so out of it!
Anyways, I really liked the video. It got me off my ass and out into the cold rain on Sunday. Can't wait til next summer when I hopefully get a chance to hit up the Alps.
