I wished I had waited to start my ride today so I could catch the full moon, but since I started early I ran into my buddy Paul and he always seems to push the envelope.

^nice! We did a similar ride last year with about 3k worth of descent over 7 miles. Gotta love freshies!

Thanks for the good words. That is actually the sunrise coming up in the background We have a group of guys that meet at the trail head at 5am and get one in before work about 3 times a week. No better way to start the day than waking up with nature. We have a regular one that supplies us with 2k of descending over 2.5 miles, so that means 2k of climbing to earn it. Our rides usually end up being about 1 1/2-2hrs in ride time so we can get back to work at a descent time.

Sounds like a brutal climb with a good reward. Do you descend the same trail?

I have become quite fond of being in the woods at nite. So much is happening that you can't see, and it's amazing how you other senses wake up.

I decided to borrow a friends fat bike today. It was a nice change of pace...

'nother nite ride on Otero. We almost got blasted by a freak snow storm at the end. I was semi-prepared for "wet" weather, but the near white-out conditions were definitely unexpected.

We took a break here and not a cloud in the sky...
