Fun night!

So, I wound up going up through the promenade over to that person's house to help with her website. Learned two things tonight:

1) Mac laptops don't like to be tossed across the room so it turns out. Gets this funny little computer symbol that does funny things.

2) Central Park closes at 1 said the cop around 72nd on the loop.

Anyone up for a ride tomorrow night? Weather should still be nice (though not as warm but still good riding weather).

From the ashes of the Pheonix...

This Wednesday - who's in? What time?

Just a reminder, emphasis on fun rather than speed This is a great ride for those that want to meet up with NYC people that aren't hammering the whole time and enjoy the city lights, usually with a food/beverage stop but not always.

Might be in depending on where/what route. Road bike is out of commission, using the folder.

We'll be meeting near 36th St and 2nd Ave (PM me for an exact location if you're interested). The rides are fun and friendly, around 20 miles (though sometimes longer, sometimes shorter), with a stop for food and beer usually somewhere. We figure out the route when we get everyone together and see what people want to do; probably either a Manhattan loop, lower half loop, or Coney Island run.

DON'T HATE ME!!!

I screwed up and I cannot make it tonight. A few weeks ago, I promised my G/F that I would take her to Jersey to meet up with her best friend who is in from Vagas. I forgot all about it until I told her of my bicycle plan and she reminded me of my promise.

Nothing is gonna stop me from going next week though.

I should be able to make it tonight. Was about to cry foul about missing Top Chef tonight, but realized Bravo replays every episode at least 12 times a day. So, uuuuh, yeah, looking forward to a nice ride.

Matty - doh!

jeebusaurousrex, brainsan, stevesurf - looking forward to seeing you all tonight!

Do Wednesdays work for everyone normally? If so we'll keep the time there to cut down on scheduling issues.

brainsan & Jackie - always a pleasure. Sorry the place was closed - still feel bad about that Next week we stop at the other place

jeebusaurousrex - great meeting you!

What a great night, ride, and company. We did a counterclockwise Manhattan loop along the water. Weather was perfect, slight breeze but not cold. I got ANOTHER EFF'N flat though - grrrr. This one I think was from a blown patch when I hit a nasty pothole. Brainsan took the reigns and we were off and running in a few mins. When we got to Chelsea Brewery there were 2 firetrucks outside and 3 ambulances with a closed gate so that was that. Brainsan and Jackie cut across to Union Square, jeebusaurousrex and I hammered down the West Side and back up mostly completing the loop. Battery Park City was another treat - really peaceful. We wound up at 7A for a burger and beer.

Thanks again all - see you next week!

Good times, Air gave a mighty fine tour of the Manhattan shoreline's nooks and crannies. Some really surprising and beautiful views! Nice to meet everyone and I'll be sure to make it to the midweek rides as often as possible.

Sounds like you guys had a great time. I should be there next week to slow you guys down a bit.

Two questions though: What time did you guys(and gal) finish up, and what is 7A?

7A is my old bar hang at the corner of 7th and A. Since Chelsea Brewery was out and we were both headed to the east side it was a good spot

We finished up kinda late last night but we also did more miles than we did last year on one of these (I wound up with 30 but we parted ways at 20). I'd say 11 is a good guestimate plus or minus.

It was a fun ride. Thanks for taking us to part of the city where I have never set foot on before. Sorry for breaking off early. Jackie was dying from hunger and exhaustion
