Fun Random NYC Night Rides
#926
I often do a Sunday morning breakfast ride. 9W to Alpine then south on River Road stopping for an egg sandwich at the snack bar at the Englewood boat basin. I just need to be home by 11am to get ready to go to work. I think the snack bar re-opens in mid May.

I'll be back in May. Enjoy the ribs w/o me! And have some fatty brisket for me.

Hey noteon, It's asf_73 (Twitter). Hopefully all is well for Wed. Is the ride basically from Inwood down to DINO & back? Will try to get some of the Inwood Cycling Club members to join us.

Usually we've met at Air's apartment down in the 30s and then ridden around the city for a while before the BBQ orgy, but I'm not sure he's in for this one. (Air, where are you...)

Yes there is an Inwood Cycling Club @noteon. Follow the FB link to get caught up ( https://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=141009001831) .
I myself have only recently stumbled upon them . Been on a couple of rides and it has never disappointed. We generally meet every Sunday at IRC at about 12:30, wait for any stragglers and head out. Each ride varies from the Greenway or up to Yonkers or street riding downtown. Pace can vary from ride to ride. If it's just a collective of strong riders, you can bet it's a fast pace. If the group is more relaxed, we are all relaxed. Either way no one is ever left behind.

Hey, guys--really hate to do this, but I need to back out. I have an unexpected workload and I'm leaving tomorrow for a brevet.
If you're still up for it, please don't wait on me. But I'd be in next week, for sure.

If we're gonna ride to eat, let's ride some place further away, like Pies n Thighs or Dumont Burger or Radegast in Williamsburg. Granted, it's not much further, but there's the added danger of crossing the Willy B.

Guys, if we're going to do anything, it needs to be soon. Summer's almost over.

I'm here! Life is getting in the way of me going up to Nyack, and Tues & Thurs nights are now not free. Let's get pgoat and Air and whomever and eat. And ride.
edit: BTW, I'm thinking of doing this to get back in the swing of things. How's the climbing on this? Doable for someone that hasn't been riding much lately? https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3971270

My family's out of town all next week. You guys pick a night.
BTW, I've sworn off Twitter and Facebook until I get this book draft done, so either contact me here or via email.

Friday night, August 27, 7pm. Meeting place and food stop TBA.
Can anybody DEFINITELY NOT make it? Because otherwise, that's the date.
jyossarian, I've only done the 9W portion of that route you posted. You could deal with it as long as you didn't bring your fixie. The rest, I have no idea.
