Buffalo riding, Buffalo WEATHER!!!

Anyone who lives in Buffalo, or surrounding areas, to say the least, I'm guessing, is getting pretty tired of the rainy, windy weather.

I've been noticing the weather has been on and off but as soon as "spring" hit, the weather started getting pretty crappy. I just want warm weather now. Definitely hating on this cold and rainy weather.

...Plus with a headwind of 30mph and rain blowing at you, unless you're out there for that(...who is...), it is definitely annoying.

Getting over that, anyone here from Buffalo hear about midnight rides this year? Or events like the Tour De Cure? Just wondering, gimme a heads up if you guys hear anything about any other events or anything at all.

Four years ago when I lived in Amherst, I rode the Amherst-Tonawanda trail and the riverside path down the Niagara River to Isle View County Park regularly. That's a nice ride when the sun's out.

I remember that 30-mile headwinds on the Niagara River. Whenever there is that headwind I turn back at the bridge at the end of the Amherst-Tonawanda trail and scoot back to Amherst.

Give it a couple more weeks and I'm sure it will be pleasant to ride again!

I grew up in Cheektowaga....

It's a little better here in Texas, but not much. We had our second snowiest winter on record. Last weekend started out wet with temps in the 40s. It warmed up to the 70s on Saturday afternoon, but the wind was strong (30+ mph) so I opted not to ride. Saturday night to Sunday morning: Snow.

Yesterday I made it to work in a little over an hour with a nice tailwind. It got stronger as the day wore on and it took me 1:40 to get home with that headwind. Ouch. This afternoon: Thunderstorms.

I'm kinda tired of it too.

I live in Fredonia, and if this is what spring looks like, bring back winter. At least in January I wasn't constantly getting my hopes up for some nice weather.

Yeah, I'm hoping things get better by April. I don't know why I expect it to be so warm in March, for some reason I was just hoping it would be in the 60's everyday hahaha.

Waiting for that Texas summer eh? How is it down there? I don't really know the climate(other than it being pretty warm all the time). Very dry, I'm guessing.

And that's EXACTLY how I am, looking at weather forecasts everyday hoping for warm weather. I mean, I'll ride out in cold weather, I really don't have a problem with it, I just know I'll be more motivated with warmer weather.

Looking at the five day forecast from today on though, not much is looking better. It's either cold and sunny, or mild and rainy. I'm gonna try and get out tomorrow if it's not too rainy like the forecast says!
