Maybe I should get studded tires for my country bike. Or I could just go out on that "lethal ice" with the slicks. That would be more nuts.

i've been plotting my planned ride to stonehenge on summer solstice. turns out it really is about 200miles there and back. 104 miles one way. Would you do it in 2 days or build up to doing it as a double in one day?

here's the route.

It's worse if you do not celebrate Christmas and you have nothing to do all day. Well time play some Call of Duty now!

75 degrees, but there's a gale warning. I think I'll go peacock hunting shortly.

Personally, I'd do it in 2 days. Probably have Mrs. RJ meet me at Stonehenge, make a mini holiday out of it.

I would do it in two days. ... but I'm a wuss.

My trip up the thumb of WI would be 400 miles, and I think I'd take 5 days to do it.

that's a good idea. i asked a couple of people to join me and they both said i was nuts. i can never get anyone interested in an adventure. i only asked them because they asked me to go ride with them as they are new converts to cycling thanks to my evangeical zeal. then i suggest a fun expedition and they go all cold. i'm going to look at the various organised london-paris rides too.

It's too bad more people don't use it.

What's the longest ride they've taken so far? 100 (or 200) miles is a daunting proposition as a new rider.
