what i meant was fat impacts health so telling a patient he is too fat is a diagnosis but after you have told a patient he is too fat, it is then up to him to do something about it. losing weight is personal effort. people fail to lose weight not because they don't know ice cream is bad but they won't cut back on ice cream.

Being an auto tech that was paid a commission type pay system, I never had time to sit and eat. I have always nibbled through the day, which has transferred to my office type job. Once in the office, and not riding, I did manage to get on up there in weight. Getting back on the bike took care of that little issue.

i refer you to my follow-up post. i would also add that docs can give weight loss info, eating info, exercise info til you are blue in the face but if someone has a difficulty following the advice, then other professionals may be better at getting through to the patient. someone like a personal trainer for example. the problem is motivation not information.

I also tell most of my patients (the ones with no real reason) that if I see them in a motorized cart at Walmart, I will fire them.

I've been wearing a watch since forever. Maybe it was passed on from my Pop who was always time conscious. I don't remember the time pieces I wore in my teens, but I do remember feeling lost (for a time) without one while in the military. See, I worked on helicopters, and you can't wear jewelry or watches around shop equipment. I got used to carrying a pocket watch instead, as did many of my fellow shop mates. I don't remember specific watches I've worn over the years other than Casio, Timex or Seiko. I'd wear them until beaten beyond recognition, or until receiving a new one as a gift. I now wear a fancy military pilot chronowatch by Chase-Durer. It's going on 7 years. And then there's my classy evening wear watch from Citizen, which is powered by light. When not wearing it, I have to keep it exposed to daylight in order to keep a charge.

This should have been posted in the roadies and watches thread.

So I'm thinking SRAM Force for the BMC, plus a near identical cockpit to what I have now: FSA wing pro compact bars and a 3t arx stem. Plus the reynolds wheels. That will be sexy. I may need to get lime green bar tape just to have something other than black/white.

Maybe razor can lend me that camo tape.

Speaking of weight loss, does anyone drink diet soda? I see plenty in the stores, so someone must be buying it.

I took a bottle along with a couple of bottles of fattening soda to the gathering and people drank the fat soda but no one touched the diet soda.
