I'm really too much of a sideliner to say anything more than "neutral" about Valentine's Day.

I guess what I'm really asking normal people here (especially those who have been together for a number of years) is whether Valentine's Day is something special to you or whether it has gotten watered or commercialized down to the point (like Christmas) that it loses much of its supposed meaning.

I think the Amazon stats are an indication of a large percentage of frustrated wimminz.

It is when my wife and I are both foodies. I only said that because when I was dating it was always expected that I take my girlfriend out to dinner on that day. I finally learned to tell them that I will take them out to dinner the day before or the day after and I will cook for them at home on V.D.

What I (and my wife) really think: We love each other everyday of the year and we both think that it is just a Hallmark Holiday that means NOTHING to us specifically. I give her flowers numerous times throughout the year when the prices are not STUPID.

oic.

Great suggestion about the Vday dinner; I'll have to use it on a year when I haven't already promised to take her out.

Bummer, but . . . almost.

Note to self: In addition to using wikipedia, you might want to Google with your question before posting it on a forum. Oh well, it's not the first time I've entertained someone with my ignorance.

I take issue with Amazon's index. Romance novels and relationship books sound more like "lonely hearts club" supplies to me.

Oh, and everyday is Valentine's Day in the rjones28 household.

Maybe.

We have been married 19+ years so we think valentine's is fairly bogus and too commercialized. And don't try going out to dinner that evening, restaurants are way too crowded.

Overall I am neutral, not thumbs down, on Valentines day I would say.

We're a bunch of bike weenies that frequent an internet forum devoted to bicycling. Don't get your hopes up.

Is it this one?

I was looking at these on ebay, and I've grown fond of them. Though this one is a little more in my price range at 110grams
