I'm really too much of a sideliner to say anything more than "neutral" about Valentine's Day.
I guess what I'm really asking normal people here (especially those who have been together for a number of years) is whether Valentine's Day is something special to you or whether it has gotten watered or commercialized down to the point (like Christmas) that it loses much of its supposed meaning.

It is when my wife and I are both foodies. I only said that because when I was dating it was always expected that I take my girlfriend out to dinner on that day. I finally learned to tell them that I will take them out to dinner the day before or the day after and I will cook for them at home on V.D.
What I (and my wife) really think: We love each other everyday of the year and we both think that it is just a Hallmark Holiday that means NOTHING to us specifically. I give her flowers numerous times throughout the year when the prices are not STUPID.

This stupid place is turning me into a weight weenie: Williams 38C carbon clinchers, KCNC Ti skewers, 95g carbon saddle, and latex tubes....what's next?!?
But wait, there's more...on the way home I stopped by the post office to pick up my new Merek 95 g all carbon saddle. It's pretty sweet and incredibly light.

We have been married 19+ years so we think valentine's is fairly bogus and too commercialized. And don't try going out to dinner that evening, restaurants are way too crowded.
Overall I am neutral, not thumbs down, on Valentines day I would say.
