Turns out I missed on the low end.

Per the radio, this guy is a retired Alabama state trooper. What a state of morons.

It is unfortunate that all they can get him on is vandallism. This is a little worse than TPing someone's yard.

There's a potential for several years in prison.

Apparently got it wrong, guy is a former Texas state trooper.

He named his kids "Bear" and "Crimson."

Anyway, what have we learned today, kids? If you want to execute a prank and not get caught, don't:

(1) call in a talk radio show and brag about doing it, or

(2) tell coasting

I've had two friends report such problems of late. I've never tweaked my back at night, but I've woken up with a doozie of a crick in my neck on occasion.

From the comments to an article about a rider on a "motorized" bicycle (whatever that is) being struck by a vehicle:

I don't ride my bike anywhere but on bike trails for fear of all the cars, trucks, blind hills, and well, I'm lazy anyhoo. If I had to (or chose) to ride a bike (motorized or otherwise) on the roads, it would be a ridiculous sight. I would dress in light colored reflective clothing. No stripes, I mean head to toe reflective clothing. I'd also have flags, and flashing lights all over the thing, warning bells, horns, and I'd be pulling one of them big commercial spotlights that waves back and forth and that you can see from across the city. Oooh, I'd also hire two escort vehicles to drive in front and behind me (wide load signs optional).

Biking on the road around these parts is just too scary for me. Too many cell phone talkin', coffee drinkin', cigarette smokin', textin', make-up applyin', book readin', eatin', radio fiddlin'...folks out there.
I should send her(?) a BikeForums invitation.

at the end of my ride last sunday, I decided to cool down on the MUP. I saw a 60+ yr old guy standing next to a bike smoking. I shook my head at him and went on. A few min later, I hear this motor behind be over my ipod (which is very loud). The smoking guy blew by me at 30+mph on his motorized bike. I tried to catch him and died when I hit 28mph.

I used to ride and smoke simultaneously up until 5 years ago or so. I always wished for a handlebar mounted ashtray.

No moto-assist for me, though.

Good grief, and I think it's windy here. How about mixing in a tree or two on the landscape?

Well, I've had it with the idiot police. I hit a wind-assisted 29 m.p.h. in the 25 m.p.h. school zone, and once again those doughnut-eaters were occupied giving a ticket to a vehicle and didn't even bother glancing up as I blew by.

I say we follow London's lead and launch a volunteer school zone police pilot program. I'll arm RUOkie with a radar gun and he can clock me and issue me an official City of Knoxville traffic violation citation for my wanton, reckless speed.

It's not an easy task living in the desert. We have canyons and sand dunes here. You have to go a few thousand feet up before you start hitting alpine territory.

Razor, why aren't you building it yourself? I'm no where near a professional bike mechanic but nobody builds my bikes but me.
