I wish they had one more catered to my skillset.
Let's see what's the Fla. one?
2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, 26.2 mile run.
I'd rather double the swim, maybe do 150 on bike and cut the run down to 5 miles.

I thought the same thing before I found out people defecate in their pants in competition, and it's no big deal. It doesn't get any dumber than that.

Do lots of people do that or is it just a rare few? Do they know that they've done it? Are they not allowed to go to a port o jon or something? I seem to remeber a story about a cyclist doing that, but I don't remember any details.

Last night I discovered there may be something to the sleep deprivation technique of getting suspects to talk.

I sure hope 2 things. 1 He was running against the wind, & 2 They didn't let him hop in the ice bath at the end.

If you were in a race and winning and had the same problem, make it a championship race or something like that, what would you do?

Man, I would throw everything in the trash! Including shoes.

I would never desecrate, and humiliate myself to that extent for any victory. If it got that bad, I would surrender to defeat. There is always next year.

While I've never wanted something so badly that I was willing to **** myself for it, part of me still kind of understands it. He won his age group with a really great time, got some sponsorships out of it and is going to Kona. It was his third attempt in a year IIRC. I was at that same event, and there were porta-potties along the route. In fact I watched the lead pro guy just off the bike leg jump into one for a moment. The run course went through a residential/tourist hotel/condo area with the turnaround being in a park, and there wasn't much opportunity to jump in the bushes. Who knows, maybe he sharted and then when it was too late and the damage was done, he didn't want to take the time to clean up.... still, that had to have been one hell of a runner's high.

With the immense amount of time and money we spent for Mr. TS to just to enter and complete one without being remotely competitive, yeah, I can kind of understand it, but I'm with you SA, there's always next year.
