If you are going to change out the tape, I vote for black.

Upon further review, I stand by my recommendation for black bar tape.

People say light-colored handlebar tape is difficult to keep clean. I've never tried it.

Black tape and crank BLR.

I think our Trek T1 has the same fork.

I had about 700 miles on my white Fizik tape and it never got dirty. A quick wipe with some simple green always cleaned it right up.

I think I'll compromise and get the black tape with the white logos.

Despite telling LBS guy I wanted black bar tape he took it upon himself to give me what he felt was best and put on white. I now have tan bar tap, it's quite grungy and no longer matches my bike. I'm going to leave it until people make comments on the gross factor, I think it will need to be a color of carp brown for that to happen.

Oh noes.

Apparently a bridge on the greenway I sometimes ride is washed out.

Yeah, it's a PITA, but the microtex stuff cleans up alright. That being said, I'll never use white again now that I went black.

a rag and some simple green should clean it up. I cleaned mine usually once a week so it never built up any grunge, so I'm not sure how clean it will get if it's built up for a while.

Things are rough all over. If there's enough rain to keep the muppets away, the trail's gonna close for one reason or another. Check out the brave soul who trudged through this closure anyways.

Sure glad I live on relatively high ground.

time to find a new LBS. They just used up their stock. Most people prefer black for that exact reason. I could never get my cork tape brighter than dove gray (grey for coasting). Of course my commuter bike now has bright yellow tape (but that bike is ugly as hell)

Nature is aiming its fury on cyclists.

Typically I ride that section of greenway at the end of a ride as it is getting dark. It seems like a more prudent option than the road at dusk.

That helmet thread is freaking astonishing. I like the guy who wrote "actually, helmets don't work." Never mind the original poster's story about the helmet actually ****ing working.

Did user "meanwhile" come up on the scene? He's my favorite gruff, British "helmets don't work and actually do more harm than good" dude.
