Surprisingly, this is not as far off as it sounds. There is the OPEC cartel which endeavors to control the price of oil through production agreements among it's members. Of course, they are not always sucessful, because members sometimes don't hold to the targets and they can't control the demand side of the equation. Then, of course, there is the wildcard of political instability in oil-producing nations.

In one of the more misguided decisions of my life I signed up for both the 4/5 and 3/4. Report in about 2 hours.

FFiFirst in 4/5. they combined 3/4 with 1/2/3 so I rode for about 3 laps then pulled out. just riding for fitness, which it is clear I don't have. regardless with a 2ndto end last year and a first to start this on cat 3 is looking attainable.
That is great, congratulations on the win!!!

It was about a 3 mile circuit, the race was 40 min on paper, this turned into 50 min because of a cruel ref
. I don't know why I thought it was going to be a crit, but it clearly wasn't (probably because it is a series, which are normally crits near me).
It wasn't too bad speed wise. The rain was on and off. The roads were wet the whole time, but it alternated between pouring and drizzle. I was in a failed 8 man break for a lap, but by the end everything was back together and wih 200 to go I just tried to pound it. the end suited me (big guy) well there was a little dip then a slight incline (training center shows a -1% going to a 2% [why doesn't GC show grade?]). The race last year I didn't stand at the end and someone nipped me at the line and I have been kicking myself all offseason. This time I didn't make the mistake and I just passed everyone and no one came around.
The 3/4 I was going to do because it was a small field and I thought I might get some more points, but once it went 1/2/3/4 I did my 3 laps and went home (lap 2 in garmin file). By the time I left some of the big guns had like a 3 min break with 3 guys already and it was faster, so I gave up my quest for points. Still my 20 min with the big boys was fun while it lasted.
So another 5 points (1st in a 21-50 person field circuit) to add to the 6 (2nd in a 21-50 person RR) from last year so 11/20. More than half way there!

Looks like the big 15k run here next weekend is going to drug test prior to the race.
