Incorrect. It isn't long distance, by the way.

Oklahoma is on fire. The air is thick with smoke. No riding for me until it clears (asthma). Sucks.

I need to ramp up my mileage in the next month. Any pointers, other than to ramp up my mileage?

To be honest, the commuting you are doing is great. That helps the legs stay fresh, and ready for the weekend. I think you will find you will feel better each weekend you put some good miles under your belt. Every weekend need not be a record, by the way. But, when it's time to crack off a beaut, you will be ready. The only pointer I have is to be happy to be on the bike.

No rain in Nebraska either. One light sprinkle is all.

Now that I have this time trial hanging over my head, the days of cycling frivolity are over.

Training is serious business now. I'm going to start posting in the 33.

You must go through them quickly. It seems a two-pack lasts me about a year.
I know this was a couple of pages back, but...

If you're a Costco or Sam's Club member, keep an eye out around the holidays for the battery-powered tea light votive candles. They usually use the CR2032 batteries and typically come about 10-30 to the pack, and the warehouse stores usually provide a slew of replacement batteries in the pack.

For example, this past Xmas I got a pack of these "candles" at Costco for $20. There were 28 in the package, and an extra 28 batteries for a total of 56 batteries.

That set up would be a little hard on rim brakes.

I'm unimaginative: I would never have thought to look at holiday candles to get batteries for my cyclecomputer.

Went to ATT store to replace my old Blackberry that was on its last legs. Chose the Torch...and it's not working right. Calendar app never loads...spits an error msg 5 minutes after I select it. This is why I hate changing phones...new isn't always better...learning curve is frustrating.

It's not fine; it's still up in the air as to whether operators will stabilise the plant or if go into meltdown mode.
