Actually, the piece that was premiered was sort of a request. She wrote it for an area middle school band. Over this past school year, she worked with the students and their music teacher to develop an idea for the music she wrote. She visited their class several times and customized the music to their band's talents.
The kids performed the work very well at tonight's concert. They seemed to be having fun playing it too.

Had an intro call with a co-worker of mine that I've never met. After we wrap up our business, she mentions something about an Ironman she's training for (Madison, WI). I mention that I cycle and OMG...the flood gates open. This woman is into it...knows all her bikes (De Rossa & QuintRoo, zipps all around, Shimano on one, Campy on the other, etc.), works with three trainers, mentions she was coached by a Cat1 woman this past Saturday that tweaked her fit and "I could see the power numbers go up! I was so excited!". I'll meet her next month when the team gathers at HQ...I'm sure we'll have plenty to talk about...but I'm sure she'll drop me.

National Weather Service says it will be warm (50F) and rainy the rest of the week. Maybe that will clear away the rest of the snow. It is still mostly white when I look out my office window.
