Dishworld?

Is Dishworld the answer for US cycling fans frustrated by how hard it is to watch bike races? I get NBC Sports on Comcast, so that is the TdF and a few classics, but not the Giro, Vuelta, etc.

DishWorld - Watch Live International TV Instantly

They claim to have BEIN Sports and Universal Sports.

I'm not being a shill for this service, I know nothing about it but am hoping someone has tried it.

I use Steephill.tv and cyclingfans.com. Chromecast from my laptop to the HD TV.

That works if you have the schedule or time to watch live programs. The resolution also sucks in most cases, even with a high-bandwidth connection.

I checked out DishWorld and it does look like the "holy grail," since you'd be able to get what essentially seems like a network DVR with any package. They have BeIn and USN, so that gets you lots of cycling and Versus doesn't make you authenticate as a cable subscriber since you can purchase their TDF Tracker.

Well, I dropped cable TV so come January I'll sign up for this service and see how it is.

Tell me about sending web video from laptop to TV via Chromecast. Is it easy? Reliable? How good or bad do the pirate streams look on the big screen?

Chromecast works great for me. Your wi-fi router needs to have good speed and your laptop should be in the same room. I open the website in Chrome and select Google Cast, expand the video to full screen, the audio transfers to the TV and the picture is there. Quality depends on the source. Some feeds are better than others. Some pixelation happens and sometimes the screen will freeze and then resume. Your internet speed will play a part. I open another tap in Chrome and show the course profile and map for quick reference and so I don't have 2 screens with the same video.

Thanks for answering. I may get a Chromecast. The thing sounds ingenious.
