Bikes: Univega conversion and a Bianchi Pista.

So I'm finishing up the book "Hell's Angels" by Hunter S. Thompson, and amidst a hangover with my buddy, we started up a bicycle club. The theme is very much satire, however the club is very real, and I am going to try and organize some rides and get-togethers. Anyways, we made a Myspace page, so go ahead and join if you'd like, and I will post bulletins in the coming months about rides and what not.

This is rad. I just moved to Portland two weeks ago and I've been looking for bike nerds to hangout with. For some reason it's been harder than I would have thought. Anyone want to show me the awesome places to hang out, the hot-spots to ride.
p.s. I ain't no hipster.

I moved here not too long ago myself. Check out shift2bike and bikeportland websites for ride event info and stuff.

Fresh Pot uses Stumptown beans. Of coarse it all depends on how the espresso is pulled or the method that the coffee is brewed. I've never had a bad shot or cup from Stumptown.

we use caffe umbria at my shop, which tastes different than stumptown stuff. not necessarily worse/better, just different.

and i mostly like fresh pot because it's right by my house, plays good music, and has lots of cute girls coming in...

besides courier coffee and ristretto roasters, it's the only real place to go for coffee.

coffee indeed is about the method it's brewed too - well, not so much the method but technique. for example, your average peet's coffee, starbucks etc. is most likely going to have burnt beans, use water that is too hot, and than keep the coffee at that extremely hot temperature the entire time it's being served. all this equals a bad beverage that no one wants to drink.

I like working here, but my shop kind of sucks...it's up at OHSU in a research building. Our espresso is good, but the only people who chill here are like biology professors and all the grad student lab techs.

Actually there no mention of what you ride or what building you work in. I was just trying to figure out who rode fixed gears up on the hill. I don't see to many up here. I'll stop by sometime and put a face to the avatar.
