Story of the day:

I'm coming back just now from the GO station and some ******** ****** on a MTB going the wrong way down the steet has the nerve to play chicken with me AND yell something at me while I swing into traffic to pass him.

I think he said something like "riding that fast is dangerous" with an unfriendly look on his face. Wasn't even worth my energy to stop and argue with this moron. Where do these people come from? Are they just born a moron or are they created? It really defies my understanding.

Ha Ha but remember there is a 50/50 chance your deck will go up in flames then your house shortly after.

I think there is an elegant mix of evolution and environment going on. My only consolation is that they're not behind the wheel of a car.

That's why HE makes a mean deep fried turkey, and not me. :D

i speak to him semi-regularly. he's doing fine, working on the road and writing. the next time we chat i'll let him know he is missed.

First mistake....putting the turkey fryer on/near the deck in the first place. I still prefer an oven bird but theres something to hanging outside in the snow, huddled up around the turkey fryer, and enjoying a warm mulled beverage....GOOD TIMES!

I seem to get all kinds of those run-ins almost every day. Be it someone riding the wrong way on my street (without lights usually, yay) or some stupidity on Queen West... I swear I'm getting more complacent as time goes on.

Feel good thing for me today: Stopped at the top of the lakeshore 'hill' near the Jameson exit area to help someone with their bike. Turns out all he needed was a lesson on how to shift gears (his supercycle MTB still having the manual attached to the handlebars), but still, I know I'd want someone to at least ask if I was stuck on the side of the path with a mechanical looking problem.

i think i'd be more worried about sharks (and drowning)...

i'll keep my feelings about deep frying turkey to myself...

... it comes with the territory. I've had a few rather scary hold-downs.. the first time that you lose all light in the middle of an afternoon session is a bit terrifying, but once you get used to the idea that you're not coming up until the water lets you, it's not so bad. (Aside from when you get knocked into things underwater; that's not so fun..)

if i'm still awake for tonite, that sounds fun...
