something about biking to ikea? http://crazybikerchick.blogspot.com/...ith-cargo.html I'm coming out tonight too.. So here's my plan: I want to make a custom headbadge for my Pake (which is getting the decals peeled off). I'm thinking of using a silver dollar from the year I was born (my dad gave me one of those when I was a little kid and it's been something I've enjoyed for years - figured I could pick another one up at a coin shop). Anyway, I could use some tips on how to shape this thing to fit my headtube without crushing/gouging up the detail on the surface. Brainiacs, GO! - eyefloater |
32flavors: where'd you go? :( I hope you're OK! I was trying to get my own ass up that hill and broke my #1 rule: watch out for your peeps.
ps. here's the route I took tonight http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=106320 |

Ready for the first training ride? I think I can handle 34km. :) And if my ass can get up to Eglinton on the route we took tonight, I think I can handle anything they throw at a bunch of old people on hybrids. :D |

http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=106320 I'm very confused by this route. |
Hey all... sorry for letting the vacuum suck me up earlier. I had to stop at Eglinton to pull out the good ol' inhaler, and when I was done you guys were nowhere in sight. I rode/looked around for awhile and then decided I'd lost you, so I decided to just keep riding. I finally realized that the buzzing in my chest was actually my cellphone, which I forgot to take off vibrate, and not my lungs wheezing, and it was Robin asking where I was... At this point I realized I hadn't looked around to see where I actually was for quite awhile and realized that the 401 was behind me and I'd somehow biked my ass up to North York. But rest assured I'm alive... Hope you guys had a good ride tonight despite my disappearance! It was nice to "meet" you all... maybe next time I'll actually find my manners and introduce myself to everyone. Yay Critical Vacuum!
|
we lost a rider going up Caledonia.... there were 3 distinct hills, she was with us for the first one and climbing up the 2nd I think. regrouped just before Eglinton and we were minus a person, then waited about 10 minutes before backtracking to Honest Eds. Obviously there is concern because we did not see her again on route back
32flavors please post to let us know you are alright *edit* that's good to hear. also nice meeting some new faces -tom (blue lights on helmet) |
thanks for the ride tonight all; the steep climbs were just what the doctor ordered. 32flavours, sorry we lost. i felt bad, being that you organized the ride and all...
|
Crit Vac 7-3 was fun fun fun. Good to meet you guys. I'll post some pre-game pics tomorrow. I actually went up to meet Flave way the hell north. Good times. Those hills are fast and fun.
Your stats will be a bit differnet, but mine were: Critical Vacuum IV Dist.: 32.41km Time: 1:20:44 Avg Speed: 23.99km/h Max Speed: 51.7km/h See ya'll next time, biaaaaa! |
How did you guys regroup before Eglinton? I stopped at Eglinton to puff. Weeeird.
|
that's the crit vac way, no? ride-puff-ride?
|
Haha. The puff isn't usually prescribed by the doc though.
|
This is silly communicating like this considering that I'm in the next room. But it's so fast now
|
Hellz yeah.
|
it might have been just the other side of eglinton maybe, there is an entrance to an unlit rail trail that seemed like it was going to be fun...
Yeah I'm confused too because we never left Caledonia the whole time... so you must have past us? next time |
No way you could've passed us going up caledonia I was there the entire time. 32flavours was behind me but I was figuring you'd catch up so I didn't look back :/
That was a fun ride. <- just got back Oh and uh this goes without saying: pics pics pics pics pics pics pics pics BTW I was Rob. P.S. MEC is clearing its inventory of park tool stuff and they won't be carrying them anymore. So if you fancy of them, nows the time to get em. They're going to replace all their park stuff with Filzer (ugh?). Here is gmaps route thing for the geek in us: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=106398 So the elevation profile says it's 60m change over like some distance. Whatever. Ride distance shown is a complete there and back dist to Honest eds. I don't carry my bike comp with me no more because frankly it just pissed me off. They also seem to have elevation profile for Toronto now, yay. |

No, no sale, damn goki you're working late.
The accuracy of that elevation profile is questionable. |
I think you guys were actually a bit north of Eglinton, because I for sure stopped at Eglinton. And then went around the area for a bit. And then went east on Eglinton. And then ended up in North York. Anyhow, despite spending most of it riding solo, I had a blast tonight. Thanks for the ride, guys.

I got look cleats, 1x red rubino, pc48 chain, deda bartape for $50 shipped. Oh and dont' worry I bought the $32 one at urbane as well, but I got 10% discount but whatever. I could've gotten a pair for 32. |
I was the guy in the orange toyota yaris that yelled at you guys while you were going down harbord
I also think we should do one of these rides to bluffer's park at some point and joke around on the cliffs. It could be a fun ride and there would be some sweet hills. |

I'd be up for it. |
Floater:
I used to take Bloor out to Martin Grove and then head north til Woodbridge. Was 40-50k roughly. You know us oldsters we go by the sun and the wind....lol CV sounded fun...... BTW I'm looking for a fast 40km route for my 40th birthday, maybe do it at midnight, puff at the stroke and rip a fast 40. |

Sorry I missed the ride. I had a previous engagement I totally forgot about. Sounds like a good time. And I had my flesh coloured skin suit all ready to go too. Oh well. I will be there next time.
