bikeophile, you still have my buns!!!

i...uh....well...your buns were good too...sooo full....
Thats the best part of being the only dude with a bag and a bad memory.....buns galore!!!! ooph!
Hopefully Chris made it home safe and sound!

I bumped into a messenger buddy of mine and we rode around for a bit...he is working for 2 messenger companies at once right now....too funny...when he gets enough calls, he turns off his radio until he catches up!!

I have a little road trip to take you guys on next time...west end...kind of an exploration...if we find the place I think we will....it wil be like a pot of gold...don't bring wallets though...otherwise we'll do something silly and impulsive....I'll tell you about it more later...

operator 05-13-05 03:22 PM

Rofl ok. Looks like the 6:30 ride is off. Rain rain go away.

Bikeophile 05-14-05 05:29 AM

Bikeophile 05-17-05 05:46 AM

Not sure about this weekend...but I might be riding this Friday again...was thinking of a nice quick spin up the Don Valley trail (up to Eglinton and back) and then maybe hitting...oh I don't know...KIM MOON?

by the way...im off to the post office to see if my levels showed up....Cam, there might be some black ones in there ;)

cavit8 05-17-05 06:45 AM

Hopefully my tax refund will be here this week. I'm working Friday, so I'm not on.

wasted weasel 05-17-05 08:08 AM

I work full time so I'll never be able to make it out to these middle of the day rides. Sometimes I'll work late (like till 8 or 9pm) that's when I find downtown is a deadzone, sometimes despite working the previous 12 hours I'll just end up rolling around the city for a couple of hours longer. Night rides are great in the middle of the week nary a car to be seen on most side streets.

Bikeophile 05-17-05 09:20 AM

no problemo...we'll make it another time then :)
Cam, the hubs are even nicer than we thought they'd be...I am going to post pics of the black ones later tonight...

I have only been able to make the afternoon rides because I've been stuck on midnights..and Fridays I try to stay up after my shift...I should be switching back to days within the next few weeks though...

operator 05-17-05 11:11 AM

What about the friday nights TBN rides? 6:30pm on Fridays.

And Kim Moon sounds good. MMM. What do you guys think of these shorts at MEC?

http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...=1116349844846

Need a cheap pair.

the days are getting longer but nothing like a nice ride in the city when the lights have gone down. i finish work at around 8pm and nothing relieves stress more than getting out and riding.

rob, i had no idea the levels hubs were so beefy. the one you have on your rear wheel looks like a fookin artillery shell. quite the contrast with the miche you're running up front.

i'll be making a kim moon run but without the don-valley-trail detour unfortunately...people at work have expressed interest in bbq pork buns.

cavernmech 05-17-05 01:05 PM

A few pork buns delivered....sounds like a good deal when it gets you out for a 2 hr "coffee break". Lucky guy.

hey keith, i can work as a bbq pork bun delivery guy. just give me the word and i'll bike over a half dozen to 179 queen east. the egg tarts are really good too. my bike was still outside when i came out of the bakery with a steaming box of goods thanks to the kryptonite!

those look alright..right price too.
wrong colour for me though....
actually, i haven't worn bike shorts in ages.. my butt doesn't get sore and the ol' groin pit doesn't get chaffed so i don't bother.

How big are these cases? Wednesday? Where exactly? I want in. I'll be downtown on wed so might as well bike buy pick up a free case... of whatever.

Bikeophile 05-21-05 02:51 PM

So I rode the Lesley Spit today...Funny I've lived in Toronto for years, and in the area most of my life...and I have never been out there...pretty cool! The only problem was that I had a bad case of "gotta go potty"... Lemme tell ya, the ride back to Tim Horton's at Lakeshore was torture, especially the speed bumps! OOOH!

Bumped into Gokiburi before the ride too. Good seeing ya! We're practically neighbours!

Anyways, hope you guys have a great weekend. I'm heading out of town tomorrow, so I will talk to you guys later!

operator 05-23-05 12:46 PM

Haha, don't worry, I just got back, twas a nice ride. Threatened to rain on us but didn't really and the weather was just cool enough that you weren't overheating.

Bikeophile 05-25-05 09:43 PM

Hey guys....haven't heard from anyone this week...how's everyone doing? I think I may be heading to London this weekend to check out the new velodrome...I'm catching a ride with a buddy on Saturday if our bikes come in (donating a couple to the velodrome).

orguasch 05-26-05 04:26 AM

I will be off this weekend, will be doing the "Donut ride" Saturday and Sunday come join us on Sunday.
Rob, I read in some of your post that you ride withTBN, Tourist-Sportif Group, that ride is comparable to the "Donut ride" so join us. will be passing Steels/Yonge around 9:15a.m. to about 9:20 a.m. after we took off from Laird/Eglinton at 9:00 a.m.

My folks are coming in to town for a week, so I'll likely be out of circulation till mid next week. Have fun in London.

I've still never done the donut...wondering if its do-able at all with the fixie (speed wise)...I would definitely put a brake on for safety sake if I were to ride in a big pack like that...I'll definitely think about the Sunday ride though...will let you know!
