Mind your manners young man, that scotch is eight years older than you are. :D

Toyota's 4x4 track is open by the water on Queens' Quay by the Star. It's been setup that if you were to haul ass from the road you'd have a straight line to what looks to be a big dirt covered fun box.

Thirty grand for a bottle of anything you might even remotely imagine drinking is insane. (IMHO) Insanely rare and antique bottles of wine that will never get drunk are also fabulously insane in their pricing but I see the collectability aspect of it. Sorta kinda... man if you got the coin...

jeremywhitehorn 02-22-08 01:03 PM

there is always, always something better to do with $30000 (and i'm someone who likes his whiskey). that's more than i paid for five years of university. come to think of it i think the whiskey is more useful...

Either that was missing some punctuation or it was too much information. :D

Hey guys, I *might* be out for tonight. The gf has been in India for 3 1/2 weeks but I just missed a call from her cell, so she might have come back early and is calling me from the plane or something. I am so horn, er---excited!

coolest race tracker EVAR!!

Wow.. thanks for the link, TJ! I figured that I wouldn't be able to watch anything since our TV cycling coverage is so poor, but that tracker is truly awesome. Watching the individual TTs right now.. just started a few minutes ago. The weather looks much better today - 15 degrees (*sigh*), 30% POP, but still a bit windy with 25 kph winds...

you're a sarcasm

Lol.. I don't think that works outside of our little thread. + watch out for a lawsuit from dan.

ToC comment: Dave Zabriskie's moustache is ridiculous. :P

"Without his mustache, Dave Zabriskie says he could have placed in the top 5 of Sunday's Tour of California prologue."

Hehehe.. you're watchin' it too, eh? I just noticed that not only did our good Canadian boy win yesterday's stage, but he's also leading the sprint points with 36pts. 2nd place has 26, 3rd has 25.

What part of India? After being back now for 1 1/2 years, I so miss being there, but am glad I don't live there anymore. A real love/hate with the country.

pyze-guy 02-22-08 04:02 PM

Scotch address? Same building as Cam?

Only a Canadian deserved to win yesterdays stage, that was hellish. I think that'll go down as one of the most demanding stages ever b/c of cold weather. How many riders treated for actual hypothermia?

Well, most demanding stages of the ToC maybe. Don't discount the Spring Classics in Europe. It's not like early Spring in Northern France/Belgium tends to be full of pleasant weather. :)

Great quote on wikipedia about Paris-Roubaix:

"It's a pile of ****, this race, it's a whole pile of **** ... You're working like an animal, you don't have the time to piss and you wet your pants ... You're riding in mud like this and you're slipping and ... it's a pile of ****, you must clean yourself otherwise you will go mad ... " Dutchman Theo de Rooy speaking to John Tesh of CBS Sports after his breakaway during he 1985 race. Tesh asks, "Will you ever ride it again?", to which De Rooy responds, "Sure, it's the most beautiful race in the world!" to which Tesh and his crew and De Rooy burst out in laughter.

somnambulant 02-22-08 04:26 PM

ps. wow. what a ride out of Leipheimer.

She was at a wedding in Kolkata and then was going to Dacca in Bangledesh. I think, I cannot recall exactly. She was in Nepal as well and has friends all over the place, so it was supposed to be a month of travelling but yeah, she is back early, woohoo! She was on a stopover when she called so didn't give me all the deets but I think she just wanted to get home a couple of days early.

Regardless, I am afraid I will have to make it to another scotch night instead. Hopefully with some rarer-than-hen's-teeth bottle of hooch that my mom tracks down in the land of rock and wind and rain, otherwise known as The Orkney Isles. Unless she drinks it on the plane ;)

Back behind in the "coach house". I don't recall if there's a buzzer back there.

Got my Ionos today! Really nice helmet :)
They even throw in a special insulated pad that covers the front vents for cooler days! No cases on the high end models anymore though unfortunately.

I hadn't seen that one - looks nice!
If I hadn't scored that Catlike for dirt cheap at the bike show I think I'd be gunning for one of these...
