Do you ride a GT Pulse? I'm pretty sure I was in Sneaks at the same time as you. Weird!

however, isnt the crank directly in the path of your testicles if you slip off the pedals in a head-on?

It is, but I have above seat steering so I get the steering post in the 'nads first.

so today at work (which i must get back too) someone brought in a IRO with a coaster brake... did some shopping, then left it by the doors to leave... so as to not get it stolen we moved the bike into the back...

anyway the gentleman who's bike it was flipped out thinking his bike had just been stolen...... i laughed at the irony... it was awesome

ps: sorry to the guy if he is on here. we meant no harm, we just wanted you to ride your bike home, and not take the transit.

ahhh good times

I plan on dropping off some movies at the Hamilton General Hospital to a buddy some time mid-week... Forget the GO bus.
Riding there from Toronto, anyone got any advice on good/bad roads? Suggestions? Comments? Stragglers who want to come along for the ride?

On that route I took Plains Rd/Fairview as recommended, but ended up jogging north on Appleby line to Britannia. I only mention it because Appleby line was recently regraded with a massive bike lane, and that was the first time I'd see anything like it in the outer GTA.

It's only May and I already have 3 trips planned for THIS year, but I'm already thinking about next year. Who wants to go watch the Little 500? :)

Sweet news, thanks!

First time riding with a music playing device today, glad I finally grabbed one - I'd often been wondering how it is to ride to some music.

freecycle 05-05-08 10:11 AM

....aaaand? was it fun? did it make you faster??

Flimflam 05-05-08 10:21 AM

Definitely fun, and I'm pretty sure it made me faster in places but not overall, heh. Much preferred having tunes to muffle the background noise of the roads though :)

i rode for years without one and at first i found riding with one fussy and disctracting but since i've been using a shuffle with the right music on it can be quite pleasant.

In case anyone is bored and has some time to kill - I've finished uploading photos from my little European bike / train trip: http://www.makergo.com/shutup/

Any possibility of putting different days on different pages? Lots of photos to load before you can start at the bottom with the first day.

Hmmm, I don't think that I'm going to split up the main page buuuuut you could always visit individual pages starting here: http://makergo.com/shutup/?p=247 and then just changing the last digits when you're done browsing... 248, 249, 250, etc.

Don ride today? I might be going in around 5:30ish.

TRaffic Jammer 05-05-08 02:26 PM

Anyone ever order from Soma's site? Thoughts?

i never tried it because the shipping seems expensive to canada. depending on what it is you're after it might be easier to ask one of the TO shops that carries soma stuff to order it for you. what parts are you looking for?

Looked like a great trip - fun write up, too - "I like turtles" even in Italy? :D

Must. Take. Bike. On. Next. Trip.

Hub update. From usps "your item left the United States from NJI at 12:36 PM on May 4, 2008."

kylehutton 05-05-08 02:42 PM

Thanks man, it was a boatload of fun. Italy loooooooooves turtles, almost as much as Jonathan the Zombie.

Check out the follow up interview with that little zombie guy. He was caught seriously off guard!

I know this may have been discussed 10000 times already, but could someone please humor me and reiterate the peculiarities of ordering parts from the UK? I am ordering a Charge saddle - I don't think there is a Canadian distributor. Is there a certain value that you need to keep under in order to avoid heavy duty? Thanks! Bob bop!

Hi, Long Time Lurker here! I was compelled to reply after watching watching the above video link (A great improvement over the 2 girls one cup video link). Holy <insert expletive here!> Was that all real kids? It was scripted, right? It IS tough to watch, but you're so right, shot damn well! Music was great too!

Oh, and to validate my posting here: Posting near Bathurst and Harbord, and I ride a Langster with a white rear deep-V. First heard about this MASSIVE thread from Robin, at Curbside.

Best way to find out is to call Revenue and Customs Canada. From what they told me when I called about the hubs was no duty on bike parts.
