Critical mass lolS.
Nice hanging out there at the end. italian opera singing, lesbians and beer FTW. Kensington - you win.
P.S If I ever see that ******bag cyclist with the stupid ass bike with metallic helmet, he's going down. Worse than the car drivers encountered on the ride.

operator mentioned a good deal on DA28s at his place .. but I really want Open Pros - Sportif doesn't have them in black though, booo. Decisions, decisions... DA28s would be OK on my Centurion though, the weight doesn't matter a crap to me anyway. (Anodized blue w/ black frame? hmm... I can get the DA28s in black for the Rob Roy though... but the Open Pros are going at a good deal - bleh )

i didn't know there were so many skaters among us; i tried riding my brothers skateboard he got from zellers once and a fell off on the grass. since then it's been all bikes all the time.
oh - mattrennick - i ordered one of those fabric horse lock holster things because of the review you gave it on your blog. thanks for the reccomendation, i'm finding it very useful. i love simple practical things that last forever....

there was also "skateworks" (i think was the name?) on main street when hogtown was there (before its move to danforth) and the skatepark (i forget the name) that was set up every weekend at the rollerskating rink on the eastside (victoria street?). there was a dude, "cookie", that used to rip it up!
"skatezone" in n.etobicoke had some nice pipes, when bill weiss and tom boyle would skate there...i remember bill doing naked mctwists...we used to survive on the microwavable pizzas and jolt cola they would sell. "grassroots", "rudy's", dundas west (the quarter pipe), doing runs down bay street, being kicked out by security at macdonald block...makes me wanna buy a deck!

Coming out of long-time-lurker mode:
Good times with Operator and LordFoo after CM, definitely. CM got a little confrontational on the Bloor Viaduct, but I'd say thanks to the trumpet guy, the vibe was eventually restored. Nice to see a lot of friends out there.
Oh, and good to meet you the other night, Sam Houston. I'm glad you came up and introduced yourself!

muh.. as predicted I felt in no condition to attend any Nuit Blanche festivities last night.. did anyone else make it out? Mark, you must have been sleep-dancing at your thing!
On the other hand "Wes and the Argyles" (aka. Nerdsgirth, Ill Mitch, Cavernmech, and I) came in 4th at our race yesterday. Fun course!

Twas indeed a good time. The most exciting moment being Mark, aka Nerdsgirth, coming in on the last lap with a broken chain, skateboard pushing his bike with one leg. The cut-off to finish was 6:00 on the nose....Mark clocked in at 5:59.999! The third place Misfits team, a 6 person, all used the same bike for the whole race...single 29er....I was inspired.

i made it out to the ocad/ago area for nuit blanche, but the entire city was so infested with people, my boyfriend and i eventually got tired of wading through overly chatty hipsters and just went home.

The Misfit Psycles guys were indeed inspiring as well. Not only did they do it on one bike, but it was also a really sexy bike. It had an old-school chain guard, red rims and fat whitewall tires (diy, apparently). So awesome. They were totally killing it through some of the slippery root infested steep short little climbs too.

Thanks yall. Had a blast, thankfully the last 1/3 was downhill. I was so angry to have all the punks I passed pass me back ;( but so thankful to get in on the cutoff. Thanks for helping get the team together. I encourage others to get into it next year!
Slow Dance with Teacher was Radiskull! I met (danced with) so many amazing people, from Aussie exchange students, to grandmas, to a 17 year old who was "too shy to dance with guys -practice", to a girl in drag. Def worth the experience. I was there from 12-5. Check out https://www.mammalian.ca/template.php?content=home -Darren Odonnell has some neat projects on the go. The "haircuts by children" project a while back was great.
I love bikes.

Ps. I forgot my clothes race bag due to the foggyness of an early start. Keith lent me a Cavern cycles /Sneaky Dee's issue jersey. I couldn't be more proud to rock that kit.

https://ccforums.ipbhost.com/index.php?showtopic=7423 Race. Did anyone hear about this? It is a part of the rebranding of Jane and Finch as "University Heights".

Keith, can i bring my gf's bike in to you tomorrow? She got it via UPS, and I think I have it tuned relatively well, but I noticed the wheels are out. If I bring it by early morning (i.e. 11) any chance it's ready by close?

Here is my newest project, a 1984ish Marinoni Special that I picked up today. It is in pretty good shape overall but I will probably change out the bar tape as it is kinda gaudy, even though it is very good quality tape. The whole thing is 6-speed Dura Ace and it fits me like a glove, I cannot wait to do some long hauls on this puppy.
edit: I have the ugliest cupboards in the city!
