I also concur as to its hideousness. Reeks of effort.
For all of y'all who have torque wrenches, where did you get them and what is the approx cost? I just did a search on the Home Depot site and the cheapest one there is $85.

Cheap torque wrenches are not worth buying for a multitude of reasons. I bought mine at Crappy Tire....Mastercraft....came calibrated...cost me $150, which was fairly cheap for a good one. I don't use it that much....mostly on carbon stuff.

It's a trick. Get an axe.

It's too bad people don't understand the concept of CONTRAST. Red frame? Totally fine! Red rims? I think Dr. Benway's bike is a fine example! Both at the same time? *gag*

ps. went to Manic Coffee (College @ Bathurst) this morning for an Americano after learning peeps from sprints last week are involved. Good coffee. Really nice space. And Nick said "you can just bring your bike in next time if you want", which is also nice, even though I probably wouldn't bother.

If you've got an hour or two to spend ask Nick about the pitfalls of "Fair Trade" coffee vs. the stuff that they sell... very interesting. In fact, unless you've got an hour or two to spend, don't ask Nick about anything coffee related at all!

I love Manic. I've never been a coffee drinker at all but I was on vacation last week and I was up there every day having one or two cups of something or other... Nick & Sam are two fine baristas and two fine gentlemen as well.

I probably had a similar conversation about Fair Trade labeled coffee with one of the owners at the Green Beanery when I was buying my coffee grinder (Rancilio Rocky, if there's any coffee nerds in the house
). Interesting stuff... but most will just totally eat up anything that's labeled as being superior (for whatever reason) without actually looking into it themselves. I'm sure we're all guilty of that at times!Nick is to long rants on coffee as Nestor is to long rants on bikes (and apparently guitars).. right Dan?

Thus far...after looking at the last three hours of radar data...it looks like our precipitation should spin away to the north west. Hopefully the Kitchener rains will fizzle out beforehand.... stay tuned. Traffic Jammer's forcast calls for a nice evening..go vote ...go race! Stay tuned.

Yes, vote vote vote! Even if you think the politicians are all dinks, at least go vote yes for MMP in the referendum!
If you still don't know what that is exactly, I think Spacing did a pretty good job here: https://spacing.ca/votes/?p=505. Plus they used a photo of a Banksy piece.
I hear that for every person that votes yes for MMP, a hipster gets his wings.. I mean, brakes.

I always wondered about the Greens' whole platform, beyond the stuff they're most vocal about (environment, etc). Turns out they're fiscally very conservative... ie. privatize everything, yadda yadda yadda. I was kind of surprised!

I'm not sure how crazy I am with another 39 politicos at the trough. 39 @ 110000$ salary. 4.2 million $ in salaries alone, all at the tax payers expense of course. Are we going to get 4.2 million worth of better politicing.... I somehow doubt it. That's my main reasoning behind saying no to the big question tonight.

"How much will MMP cost?
If the referendum results in a vote in favour of Mixed Member Proportional, by December 31st, 2008, the new government would have to introduce a law to make Mixed Member Proportional Ontario's new system. When the law is introduced and considered by the legislature, electors will be able to ask questions and debate the costs of the new system. The precise cost of the new system would depend on the details of the law and is a question that will have to be asked of the future government. "
Personally I'm willing to spend a little extra money to benefit cities and urban dwellers as I don't think the current system is fair to urban centres. I don't think enough people are going to vote 'yes' though anyway. I think the entire election system, top to bottom, needs to be revisited, but I don't know if that'll ever happen.
Sweden knows how to get 'er done! Yes, I'm a total Sweden fan-boy.

Guh, these daily training rides are going to be the death of me. On the other hand, they've got to amount to something so hopefully this weekend goes well(ish).
