whoops.. I knew something looked wrong with 'su' in that sense, but I couldn't remember what the command actually was. I don't spend much time in ye olde CLI these days! Nice to know it's there though.. hehehe.

I would imagine that's cheaper than anywhere local, yes. I'd splurge slightly more and go for the SLs though, personally. I got mine on eBay.

The bottom line Eggbeaters use a microscopically small bearing and get blown out super quick. As Wes said...spend the extra $ and go for the better ones.

good call, and a wise suggestion in the grand old eBay... $70CAD for the SLs... bingo.

Keith, do you have any strong road rims hanging around? I'm thinking of getting my rear roadie wheel rebuilt with a new rim (as I figure it's just old and tired) but would like to keep the cassette/drivetrain stuff as-is. If so, I can drop the stuff off tomorrow for you... If not, I might go get just one Open Pro for this, as I need this bike back on the road - my MTB is crushing me.

I need to get an opinion on my roadie, I have a semi-occasional knocking in my crank (feels like it's in the BB itself) at certain crank positions when putting power down - and I have a brake-wobble in the front, which I suspect is the headset in need of a repack - I don't know anything/enough about this stuff to know wtf - any ideas? or should I just bring 'er in? I can leave it at the shop for a looksee tomorrow.

w00t w00t!

Weather appears to bo co-operating so far. I'll be leaving the east end around 8p if any EastEnders interested in heading down together to Grange park - the first meeting point.

The only thing we're missing - and I will try to rectify for next week - is tunes. I think.

See you tonight!

I'm coming from the east, but unsure of time - I'll try to get down to the Ex. for 8:30 though, even if I don't run I'll come down to socialise time permitting.

Excellent. It's more about the socializing - just on bikes

My time plans have switched up a bit as well due top poor handling of my time today. I'll have to pop down to Cavern to pick up my freshen'd up ride so I'll likely be walking or cabbing or something down there when that's done. That said, I'll see whomever at Grange and the gates!

I'll meet you guys at the gates. Toby posted the event on facebook, but only invited a couple folks. I was going to do the mass invite, but I figured having it a little lighter on numbers right now probably isn't a bad thing. Word-of-mouth might be the best method.

How many holes for the rim/wheel? Knocking does sound like B.B. Might need a repack or possibly replacement.....without seeing it, hard to tell. Is it a cartridge or loose ball type?

Bleh mistimed my east end stuff, didn't get back until 11... oh well - next week I'll have my **** together.

Keith, honestly unknown, I'd say 36 but I can't be sure - I'll bring the bike in tomorrow, I've no idea on the BB type either - I've never had the bike apart other than the bare basics.

Hope there was much fun to be had, really bummed I missed out. pics?

Sprints tonight were super fun!
Thanks Brad for use the helmet and thanks to Ryan & Toby for organizing the damn thing and making sure that we all had something fun and challenging to do tonight - it is most certainly appreciated.
