Someone did call in and say that they got rid of their car and use their bikes now... and the anchor pretty much dismissed her by saying "well that's fine if you live downtown... but what about the commuters?"

Yeah too bad about the rain. I'm on an uber sugar high thanks to Rockets left over from Toby's race. I need to expend some energy!

niiiice... Now ..not on the hunt per say, but keeping eyes peeled for non-integrated HS track bikes...
the idea.... is for it to be a track bike.... though whose to say it might never see the streets?

They just had a "talkback" thing on CTV where you call in and say what you're doing personally to address this... One guy figures his car doesn't pollute 'cause he passes his emissions test every year, and lots more complain that there's not enough transit options for commuters. Nobody seems to ask why you'd choose to live 100kms from your work (or work 100kms from your home)

i like downtown; i thought i was a commuter? let's see: i want a huge house and lots of land and i don't want to have to pay a lot for it and i want to still earn a lot of money. what do you mean i have no right to complain about having to travel every day to get what i want.
i was driving back from whitby yesterday after visiting my folks; it will never cease to amaze me the sight you get of miles of row housing after you crest a hill coming down from one of the country roads. you are literally in the country and then bam! suburbs. it happens somewhere just south of highway 7...

My parents are just East of Oshawa and it's the same thing... A few times I've been taken aback expecting to crest a hill to see fields, only to see fields of houses with the odd megaplex and home depot scattered about.
When we did that colours ride up to forks of the credit a few weeks ago I was joking that we were too late to see the leaves- they already cut them down to build "an exclusive enclave of custom estates"
I do love the ironic names they give to the developments like "woodland meadow" or "forest ravine estates" though

there's no shortage of non-integrated track frames out there. why not save your pennies and get something custom. start a swear jar or something.

with two kids 14 and 10..I'm well versed in controlling my tougne...swear jars would remain empty.
I think in the 21std century.. there should be a MASSIVE tax/cost to develop land AND purchase a new home with lawns.
Somebody HAS to address sprawl and more than a developers' obstacle.. in my analyst's hat this is up there with Global Warming and getting beer in our corner stores.

90km's. Any bike. Anything goes race ie: weird addresses, bike lock-ups, stair run-ups, odd cargo etc. A bag, lock and Perly's are pretty much required. The fastest person out won't win...the smartest fast person will. Prize will be split dependent on how many women come out based on percentage ie: 100 racers total...10 women...Womens prize is 10%.

Side note, showed the students The Gods Must Be Crazy today (hoods are broken). Such a crazy funny movie, I'd forgotten has weird it was. Sems like it fiolmed on a $32 budget. Anyone remeber the theater in T.O. that showed it for 15 years.

i dunno if it was at the eaton center, but i was thinking about that place when the varsity vip was mentioned last week... $2.50 to see a flick in a theater that was more like a house party in someone's basement = good tymes
and today is/was a good day for tuna casserole, with chocolate chip cookies for dessert! sa-weeet!

On a totally unrelated note: You make Danzig wanna speak Spanish.
I was wondering if anyone here knows where this ebay seller found this bike: https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=017
He calls the shop a "somewhat curious local bike shop" and when I emailled him, he wouldn't tell me where he got it, just saying that it wasn't High Park Cycles (which is what I had guessed). I think it is funny that he wouldn't tell me the name, does anyone have any ideas?
