Holy big blue eyes, pyze-man! :D

Cute photo, love the fire truck bib, too - He looks a lot like you in that photo :)

TRaffic Jammer 04-24-08 02:31 PM

10 minutes you say..... good to know. I know what you mean by regular speed looking a bit boring.

re: youtube limits: Use Vimeo. Vimeo is your friend.

"Vimeo is simple and appealing, offering good quality videos, a 500MB weekly upload limit and even HD content. As long as it fits within your weekly limit, you can upload videos of any length, and even upload them via e-mail!"

Flimflam 04-24-08 03:30 PM

Ooooh, OK - I was looking on there for that info but didn't want to signup - good to know indeed, I notice youtube have a 1GB size limit, but still the 10 mins. Facebook is 20 mins/300MB I think. Vimeo looks to be the weinar.

And I think my camera is to blame for speed/depth perception - I was hauling a good 50-55km/h down O'Connor one night and reviewed even that video and it looked tame/slow, heh - so it's probably just a lense/angle/whatever (I'm not a photographer ;)) thing.

somnambulant 04-24-08 04:23 PM

Vimeo also seems to be much higher quality.

Ahhh... there was some confusion in my question earlier - "where the rest of the group went." I was with the group that went down keele to the queensway. Where did Will, Keith etc.. end up?

On the baby pictures front -- I've been away from the cyberworld for a few days, but am back to introduce the latest future cyclist to the world:

I'm guessing that my posts for the next little while will be sporadic and appearing at random times, day or night, from what I've heard :)

[QUOTE=pyze-guy;6578557]My wifes "new" commuter. Nothing fancy, mavic rims, axiom s/s disc hub, 39X15, 2.0 tires. Rides great, faster than I thought it would be and goes over everything. Pretty well bombproof. Total cost was $19.99 for the saddle. Everything was from parts I had.
http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...y/IMG_0942.jpg

That my friend, is awesome!

Flimflam 04-24-08 08:33 PM

Congrats 'Foo!

kergin: Wil took off at Bloor early on, I think Keith turned around at the entrance of High Park - we went up the hill and across to Windermere, I guess you all went left there at Keele/Parkside?

Single speed for sure. She's going to give it a try and she if she likes it. She likes the idea of no gears so it should be good for her. Can't get fenders to fit the tires. They are huge. She's also a fairweather riderr so no rain for her. I'm just happy she wants to ride to work.

Nice setup! How big are the tires that you can't find fenders? There are some wide planet bike fenders that I bet would clear those.

cavit8 04-24-08 08:44 PM

I have a pretty wide set of mtb fenders you could have if you want to try it out.

Adam, congratulations on the wee potato.

Cool, the tires are 2.0. I'll swing by one day and check and see if they fit. Thanks.

Okay so far only TJ needs to confirm the hub order. I'll be phoning it in in the am, 9-10ish. Awkward sentence there.

TRaffic Jammer 04-25-08 05:18 AM

Lord Foo, that's an adorable addition to the family, awesome....good times ahead.

Sam was telling me that the Japanese retailers he deals with order the most insane colorways. Everytime he takes the order he shakes his head but they seem to sell. They must think I'm nuts with my all black UTW Messential.

Congrats on the kids guys. If only they could always be THIS cute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2a8NLuVwIs or this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OBlg...eature=related

Okay, hubs are ordered, should ship Monday via USPS. Only thing people need to know: only have the hubs in silver, I know the site said black. So I ordered for everyone anyways:) If you don't want a set of fixed free hubs for $40 you are a w@nker. Haha just kidding. Anyways if you dont want them in silver let me know soon so I can call and cancel your order. or keep them and flip them on Clist or ebay for more than they cost you.

Cheers,
Chris.

This one is crazy too. So so miss living there sometimes.

kylehutton 04-25-08 08:23 AM

thanks chris!

Ah how did I miss this!? If they ship monday, can I be added? :o

Flimflam 04-25-08 09:06 AM

Sweet pyze, thankees very muchlies - if I think ahead, I'll get some cashola for you at mass tonight, if not, then whenever they come in I guess.

Up early to get to Whitby for 8:30 and the office doesn't get opened until 9:20 as they were running late... Mendddooozzzaaaa!

Mounted fenders during the train ride, I'm hoping it was worth the effort.

Oh yeah, and PS. on those Cascadia fenders - *massive* improvement on the front coverage, the backside (under the downtube area) is WAY longer now, with the mudflap it's superb coverage - I hope it performs! :)

garethlewis 04-25-08 09:21 AM

Did anyone hear on CBC yesterday about the possibility of banning brakeless bikes? My girlfriend said she heard something... I can't find anything on their site.

Was this in Toronto only? Seems like a something at the municipal bylaw level.

Is this even news?

freecycle 04-25-08 09:29 AM

of all days to forget a raincoat. stupid stupid stupid.

You can have mine. I was only interested in black ones since I'm in absolutely zero hurry to build another wheelset and I'm being picky.

ps. and by "have" I mean take over my spot, not freebies. ;)

kergin 04-25-08 09:37 AM

Booya! Went to fight the tickets and got reduced from $290 to $45.

jeremywhitehorn 04-25-08 10:45 AM

anyone interested in a cheap winter bike or a beater check this out. nothing special but not a back hack around for for $250.
