No Mark? Who win the most tonight then? Last night Cam did the radar over by Gladstone and clocked 49.

The List: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?k...l_2b49TA&gid=0

Tomorrow I have to post the rest of the accessories/tools info. For now, bikes, frames, wheels, parts and tires are done. I might add a few more things if I find anything interesting. This is also your chance to make requests if you don't see anything like what you need (bottom brackets, 700c rims, etc. etc.).

This link should update automagically, so check back tomorrow for more stuff.

Edit: If anything looks ****ed up in that spreadsheet (things get a bit blurry after typing away for hours in Google Docs) let me know.

some dumb dick stole my blinky lights. effing jerks. (*^%&!!!!1

cavit8 11-14-07 09:41 PM

Like the bike that got scooped from the bike rack where i usually park. Some unfortunate locked their front wheel with a U lock and the rest of the bike with a krypto cable. Snip went the cable, click went the quick release, bye bye went the bike less front wheel. I guess all the passers by thought he was coming back for the front wheel later.

On one hand people should learn to lock their bicycles properly, but one the other I often wonder if cables should come with a big sign saying "moral support only"

2wheelsgood 11-15-07 07:01 AM

well, i wouldn't really compare the theft of my lights to an entire bike. It was the pettiness of stealing a $4 and $9 light that actually bothered me. like, if you really wanted them that bad just buy your own. don't touch my bike! and my front light had a little toy attached to it that i got in Tokyo :(

i want knog frogs. You has them? Good? Bad? Or should i get another standard blinky from mec?

I have a set of these - imho they are 4x more expensive than the turtle lights with not much benefit. They don't have the optics the turtles have so the beam isn't as focused. But the knogs come in red/white LED with red/white coloured body.Good for running lights, but no good to be actually seen unless you put them on blinking. The rubber molded body of the knogs stay on handlebars easier.

The batteries are replaceable in the Knog Frogs ... not sure about the MEC lights.

a couple years ago i had a little toy frog a friend won for me at the ex tied to my saddle rails... one day i left work and someone had cut it off and put it in my bottle cage. at least i still have it, but i was like: wtf is someone doing molesting my poor froggie? at one of the spring bike shows brad and i parked in the underground parking lot and when we left his saddle protector/cover was missing, however i rode around a bit and found it several meters away. i also had one stolen after going into a store for literally 2 minutes, and a few bells have disappeared as well... no fun!

somnambulant 11-15-07 08:05 AM

Yeah, I had an MEC white blinky turtle light stolen outside my band's rehearsal space a couple months ago. Those things cost what, $2? How much crack does that get you?

As for lights, I just picked up f/r PlanetBike lights. They're a little more expensive at ~$15 each. The front one is decent enough (5 LEDs) but the back one is awesome. It's a Planet Bike Superflash. It's got a really eyecatching blink pattern. Bought them both at MEC.

sweep242 11-15-07 08:14 AM

I like that the planet bike ones cause are removable so if your staying long just slide them out of the bracket witch is nice.

Look at me on the interweb during work hours!

Matt that is a great choice to be able to make! Nice.

Story time:

So some guy walks into the shop the other day and immediately asks where the hampsters are.

"Sorry, what?"
"The hampsters. It smells like hampsters in here. You guys don't keep hampsters here?"
"Err, no ... not that I'm aware of."
"Oh weird, 'cause it definitely smells like hampsters."

Tadah!

i keep a light on my rear hub so when my wheel turns it does as well, it's pretty eyecatching(they missed that one). That sucks about your frog, Tam. When it happened i flashed back to the scene in Pulp Fiction when John Travolta is talking about the guy keying his malibu. "You just don't **** with another man's vehicle!"

You can put the knogs pretty much anywhere. Cycle solutions has a bunch of the frogs for a good price in town.

somnambulant 11-15-07 08:27 AM

"But honey, they're a REALLY good deal!"

They are, but unless you go to active surplus, new batteries cost more than the light did. Replacement batteries seem to be a lot stronger than the originals though.

jeremywhitehorn 11-15-07 08:55 AM

Speaking of good deals, i was in bikes on wheel yesterday and noticed that they have a couple racks of clothing on really deep discounts. i was tempted to pick up a waterproof/breathable addidas jacket but i just don't need more stuff. they also seem to have lots of sugoi and lots of womens' clothes in general. so if you're small and a woman or just small and effeminate then you could probably get something nice there...

Why is the Human Torch getting all loves to love in that image?

ooo did you happen to notice if they had rain pants? of course they probably won't have my size... but i'm getting more and more disheartened with mec these days, so i should try there first.

Actually, at MEC now you can get the batteries for about a buck a pop - not bad. I use some of the Energizers from MEC to replace the batteries in my BLT Blinkies when they go out.

Big thanks to Keith for getting that wheel together in such a short timespan after I embarrassingly bought a 36 rim to go with a 32 hub... which I guess I should get back from you at some point, maybe I'll grab a rim and try my hand at wheelbuilding with that hub/those spokes?
