Damn, that sucks, like the cops need another black eye. I like most cops that I have met but you have to admit that it is a certain personality-type that ends up being a police officer....

Zippered, that's bull****! Stick it to the (wo)man!

Keith sorry I wasn't able to come in yesterday as I said I would. Can I pick up my wheel later this afternoon mayhaps?

The flip side to the officer coin:

Going home last night two bike police have boxed in Mr. Tuner Honda at King/Yonge and are crawling over the car with a measuring tape. Carbon hood, Maxwell House coffee can exhaust, custom BRIGHT head lights. Now with the limit +50kph car seizure, if he was doing 90 in the core (which isn't beyond the imagination)...CYA!!

zippered 11-16-07 04:13 PM

so i just got back from filing the traffic complaint. they ran the plates, and it's not a toronto police officer, but because she's from outside of the city i was given another form for the "ontario civilian commission on police serices" in case she works for another force. however, if she's from the fire department, a security agency or (as one officer suggested) CISIS (!!) i was told "good luck".

at first, when they thought she was a toronto cop, they had me wait to speak with a sargent, which i thought was interesting. then i spoke to two detectives who went over my written statement, the complaint and looked at the photos. they were pretty cool and respectful, and even gave me a business card so i could follow up. the investigating officer said he would follow up with me after speaking with the driver, and will look to see what part of the HTA might be used against her. i have to be prepared to testify in court if charges are pressed. amen, testi-fy!

happy friday everyone :p

Zippered, as she flashed her badge, she obviously thought it was going to have some sort of effect on you. Now we know she wasn't in her jurisdiction, so she was putting on a show. Even CSIS has to obey the laws when driving.... not a high speed pursuit. The fact she flashed a badge has her on the hook BIGTIME. Most enforcement agencies will take a dim view of her flashing the shield for something like this. Now if it turns out she's not supposed to have a badge and does it to get herself ...whatever, then she is in trouble. Good on ya.

duppy.conqueror 11-16-07 06:02 PM

does anyone have the flyer for Nadirs race?
or a link to it?

DrBenway 11-16-07 06:12 PM

Seriously! Well done Zip!

I'd agree that cops aren't all bad... but man have I had some experiences lately. I mean, you can't just park in the bike lane to get a fallafel. You can't just buzz someone for no reason or for that matter, flip on the cherry's mid intersection to cover your ass for having almost taken out a cyclist after plain ol' blowin' a red. Not that this has happened to me in the last 14 days - some more than once, others not mentioned - or anything. Just sayin'.

Anyone coming out to the sprints EARLY tommorrow morning? For those interested, myself and Keith (and perhaps Will if he it works out for him) will be down there at like 8am and I believe sprints start at 9am. If you're unfamiliar with the area, here's a map.

We'll be just east of that kink in the road. 200m sprints with an additional 200m rollout... so bring your big gears if you'd like. Big money and good times... big partay later in the eve following the big race - which starts @ 5pm, $20 gets you registered and drinks at the after party (was a sixer of Heiny but that isn't happening now).

See you there?

Anyone who would like to show up early with a broom to help sweep the race surface a bit would be awesome as well. Plus you can brag to all racing, that if it wasn't for you, everyone would be flatting out.
$20 to race twice in one day and get free beer and Red-Bull! OUTRAGEOUS!!
Oh yeah....there is tons of merch as well as the cash....so well placing individuals will still get something nice. Bonus!
