Late response. No, don't use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. You want denatured (methylated) alcohol which you can get at a paint store.

The number of coats will affect the colour so you can shoot for what you want which will depend on the shellac colour and the original tape colour; I'd say four minimum. The more coats the darker it will get.

Yeah I know the trail isn't too bad - but I'll probably take the streets for speed, I don't want to hang around, especially if the weather is balls.

Thanks again... I'm thinking Jane all the way up, or maybe Davenport across to something around there like or say Keele.

Methyl alcohol will blind you (I think in moonshine it's what you get by accident when the wood in the still ferments), and is totally cool with passing through your skin, so, you know, throw on some latex when you handle that stuff.

Good point, yes. Methanol is the typical denaturant in methyl alcohol, so do wear some hand protection even if you're not planning on getting it on your hands because it can be absorbed dermally. Ventilate well and ne pas fumer when using it. I'd sort of taken all that as a given, but ekim's right.

So, does George keep regular hours? I found a phone # on the internet for his place, but it went directly to his personal voice mail. Maybe I'll leave a message today - see if he gets back to me...

Incidentally, two Cervelos on CL:

too bad they're huge and too expensive...I think there was a recall on the 2.5 for BB bonding failure

Sweet. Thanks Mark! Pre-discussion position- no way I'm paying for a permit to ride my bike.

Bikes: too many too list

Kergin...I have a bunch of good threaded cr-mo road forks for cheap....limited steerer lengths tho

Cam...I have a pair or 20's...used...you can have em if you come and get em.

As for the Colnago...I thought about it for a while and after chatting with Nadir and Nery decided to take the plunge. I will never ride this bike...strictly an investment....well that and I got a 54cm so I wouldn't be tempted.

Morning check of the B.F... now off to the shop...albeit a bit late.

It must be "Dave! Fix my bike."

I have taken Caledonia all the way to the end, hopped the tracks, and continued north on Keele.

Yes, it was "Dave! Fix my bike"... is there anything significant about that?
