Oh I think you do Jeremy. I think you do.

I'm in for Friday. 6 works for me, as I finish work at 5. Is that the place where it's going to go down?

Here's a good story: on the weekend, I was using my newly acquired Dremel to sand rust off the lugs of my project bike, so I could proceed with prime & paint. In my ignorance, I wasn't wearing safety glasses while sanding/grinding, and a small piece of metal found its way into my cornea. It only really started to bother me yesterday afternoon, but quickly became serious around 10PM, so I headed to the Toronto Western ER.

Long story short: a doctor used a fine drill to remove the, "rust ring," from my right-eye cornea, at the 12 o'clock position, right over the iris. Wednesday, I have a follow-up appointment with the eye clinic ophthalmologist.

Jesus HC! That's why I was wearing my safety glasses on my head when you saw me yesterday. Grinding + drilling a safe operation to the eyes not make.

Hahahahahahahah re chefs: http://toronto.craigslist.ca/tor/stp/490745988.html

P.S West wind is going to increase from the present 30kph to suspected 70kph. Be careful out there!

I_bRAD 11-27-07 07:28 AM

Heal up quickly Kergin! Dremel is one tool I always use safety glasses on, especially with the cutting wheels. At the very least you've gotta squint! :p

Yes, I got mine off ebay. A few dings in the chrome on the lock nut, but the surfaces are in good shape. For $25 you really can't go wrong.

And the Friday shindig looks like it's on for Bettys. I'll try to grab a table back from the bar. It can get pretty packed around quittin' time, so if anyone gets there and you don't see us, keep looking. There's also an upstairs.

TRaffic Jammer 11-27-07 09:10 AM

if it's possible for some folks to get there before 5 and secure some table-age.... THAT would be awesome as Betty's does indeed get crowded at quitters hours. Scratched cornea, been there, done that, ow ow ow, heal up fast.... use the drops given you religiously.

somnambulant 11-27-07 09:29 AM

yeah.. and be very gentle with the eye for a looong time.. those things are notoriously annoying to heal up. :S

Hey, don't knock it till you've tried it ... though the one that took the cake was watching the video feed off the camera run down my throat.

I_bRAD 11-27-07 10:11 AM

The trick is actually being able to remember what you see!

duppy.conqueror 11-27-07 12:54 PM
