We should get some text on the back that says "TAXI BAIT"

that's a good point. what about "single speed and fixed gear" on the back? and some sort of slogan on the front (come on "in velo veritas"!)

TRaffic Jammer 06-15-06 09:14 AM

 Shiz .... no way hombre...I spent waaay too many years as taxi bait.
Taxi Hunter now....

So we've gone away from a logo in preference to text?
I like the latin.... on the back sounds kinda nice.
(T-Dot Fixed
and SS Riders)?

(Toronto Fixed
and SS Riders)?

(T• Fixed
and SS Riders)?

STEEKER 06-15-06 09:19 AM

ok those Norco glue patchs SUCK another one leaked . last tube in the tire (presta) going to try tomake it up to Kingston road LBS without a nipple leak...........SS Toronto does sound like a Boat

jeremywhitehorn 06-15-06 09:27 AM

he, he nipple leak! (where that school-girlish picture of somnambulat now?)

never used the norco patches. usually keep the Park tool patches handy for emergencies but for permament fix you have to use the proper glue+sandpaper+patch kits...or replace the tube.

Shiznaz 06-15-06 09:28 AM

Okay then you constructive critics, I'll just suggest my original and true feeling (f*ck SS anyways):
TORONTO
Fixed Gear

EDIT: I've never used any of the glueless patches I just assumed they would be crap. I usually carry 1 spare tube with me in case I get a flat (I usually get one at a time) and a patch/glue/sandpaper kit in case I get two. I generally just slip on the new tube and wait until the evening to patch the old tube, as it can be tough when you're out in the elements.

I HATE IT when my nipples leak....dang!!!

a simple logo would be alright. i like option 2 there, although in addition to the boat reference, "SS" has some third reich connotations....

perhaps just writing it out in full "Toronto Single Speed & Fixed Gear [Riders]"?

TRaffic Jammer 06-15-06 09:38 AM

Like Shiznaz leads up to.... is there a single speed rider on there or on the list? You guys are all fixed no?
Spelling out all out on a single line makes for small illegible jersey type.

STEEKER 06-15-06 09:40 AM

should'nt Fixed Gear be ahead of single speed ???

32flavours 06-15-06 09:43 AM

apparently people will think you are a nazi if the letters SS are on your cycling jersey

jeremywhitehorn 06-15-06 09:49 AM

just a thought - if the jersey read just fixed gear i could probably get some of the guys from the toronto fixed group on board for a jersey, could bring the costs down...

STEEKER 06-15-06 09:51 AM

word of advice, Never do repair work on your bike while naked,,,,,,,,,,,,, and the SS thing on a shirt looks bad to peeps not in the know about bikes

Shiznaz 06-15-06 09:52 AM

i call a truce; i really like that. very simple.

Yea I see loads of Nazis out riding around. Way to ruin letter association, and the little arty mustache.

edit I love that pic Wes.

Yeah I was facetiously mocking the notion. Apart from being used by the nazis to abbreviate "Schutzstaffeln" SS regularly stands for Stainless Steel, Social Services, Steam Ship (S.S. Enterprise etc), Surround Sound, Single Speed, Screen Shot and god knows how many others. Lets not let the nazis win this one people.

hahaha.. I always said that nobody would ever be able to wear one of those again but I actually saw a guy with a total hitler moustache a few weeks ago. Although in his case I think it was more of a mario/luigi moustache. :P
