that deep section rim looks like either a campy shamal or an anodized cxp-33 (or 14) to me...
|
That ain't no shamal. How deep is the section?

I rode in today on a steel bike which I bought new in '91 (plain 'ol 4130 too!) and it's still great. Never been treated and the only rust is surface rust where the paint was dinged a few times. If you take care of it it's not an issue.

I wonder if this stuff will work. They have some at foghmarine. http://www.nocorrosion.com/corrosion-control.htm Be careful folks.Hoverin' around zero with rain on top of hardpack = no fun |
The rim on that Surly is an Ambrosio Futura. It has this grey-y/bluey colour. Looks really nice. At least one of the fleet bikes at the velodrome has those rims on it.

that doesn't really have anything to do with anything, but their stuff seems good |

Random request: As a new member of my firm, I am told to do a christmas skit at the annual christmas party. That fine, and the new people there have written a poem to be performed.
However, I have been asked to take the Word document the poem is in and 'publish' it nice so that we can have it framed and give it to the partners afterwards. The problem is I have NO idea how the best way to do it is. I was thinking Indesign, and I opened it up and just stared at the screen having no idea what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

If you want it laid out nicely on the cheap, look into LaTeX. Its not easy, but it will produce documents that are professionally formatted. The actual output file will be PDF or Postscript.
I keep getting disturbed by the fact that dunk drivers are attracted to blinking lights. Well documented collisions between cars and emergency vehicles with flashing lights. etc. etc. |

So the final weekend of moving bikes and cleaning up is finished. Feels weird after 12 years of going in to the shop every morning. Not sure what to do with myself today...guess I'll have a crap then maybe wind my watch.
A hearty cheers and thanks to everyone who came out to Betty's on Friday. I was rather surprised to see so many folks out. Made my night. A special thanks go out to T.J. for the toast and all who contributed to my retirement(?) present. The next tasting night is at my place! Cheers, K. The Jefferson's or Price is Right? Hmmmm these are the hard decisions I was trying to get away from. |

My $0.02: As someone who has spent waaaaay too much time with LaTeX -- it's great only if you a) are familiar with markup languages (like HTML), b) can find the template/style file for the type of document you're publishing. Writing a style file from scratch is nearly hopeless for the average man.

Dear nerds,
No lawyer is ever going to use LaTeX to format a poem to print for their office. Love and kisses, Wesley ps. Y'alls are all making this overly complex. Just use Word, make it pretty and take the file down to Kinko's/print three/whatever and get it printed onto cardstock. Unless you're going for something way fancier than how I picture a printed poem..? pps. just print this and be done with it: http://www.unicornlady.net/poetry/im...to-unicorn.jpg |
