my non-drive side pedal falls off on my commute in, so it was fun getting home (thank you front brake). would've been nice if SOMEONE still had their bike store. :D |

Pretty much the car and a video of them going around NYC I think it was. No, you can't take it for a test drive :D. Unfortunately the artist wasn't there when we were, so no chance to chat about the car. |

Screw the clinchers.. 50mm tubs for $398! The 'words' are a little garish (and apparently under the clear coat), but for that price and <1500g I might be willing to ignore them. I also didn't realize before that the motobecane carbon frames ship without the decals applied, which is kinda cool. Not really that interested in those though anyway.
jet sanchez / op: you thinking of ordering anything? I saw you post a couple times in the questions/suggestions thread. 1) Shipping is UPS (could get around it if someone is going to states after the holidays) 2) Huge words are absolutely non-removeable from teh rims Endurosports does fitting with a computrainer P.S That picnica is wicked! |

The Bikesdirect guy also said he would be doing a lighter/stiffer version of the Kilo TT for about $300 or so, that sounds pretty cool to me. |

hit up the main streets ... much less ice
was it just me or was the image of four people in a car with their feet touching the ground flinstone's style absolutely hilarious? it makes me think: what is illegal about a pedal-powered car? do you have to have it registered even if it's just a chassis? |

i'm pretty much sticking to the main streets from now until spring. i wouldn't even recommend the martin goodman trail; that's not cleared of snow/ice either.

I still dont understand whats not "safe" about this car? They didnt seem like they were in any danger...except the danger of going to slow ;) edit: re: the flinstones thang...same thing Marlon said last night when i showed him...WILMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA |

I thought that he wasn't going to ship outside of the US due to the extra forms that have to be filled out and the costum charges he would incur?

Which sucks because they do seem to have good deals on stuff. I was looking at a mountain bike from them, simply because I don't ride enough to need either a better bike. |
Chromeo - Fancy Footwork <-- just download it and try not to hurt anyone w/ your bad dance moves.

Another dance-inducer (and great video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKcDa0Kp2K8
Although, for Junior Senior songs I prefer Shake Your Coconuts, but there are only bad DIY user videos on YouTube. Guess there isn't an official video. |
MEC rules, bike computer was acting all pooey this morning, so I took *just* the computer part in with no receipt, dude gave me another computer to try. Turns out that doesn't work consistently either, so I think my magnets or wire is duff, either way it was cool of MEC to let me try. I'll return the whole shebang later. I have the cheapo wired dB4L, great little computer - rarely had a problem with it. Shame it's stopped working on me (it started last time I rode the bike on Thursday, very weird behaviour with the speed just sticking. I wonder if the cold hurt it).
I keep going back and forth on my wheelset decisions.. now I'm thinking Black CXP22s from bicyclewheels.com for now - how are these for road riding? |
Alright, so where's the new Friday-after-work rally point gonna be? :D

So... I was doing a bit of reading and trying to get myself all learned up about lighting on these newfangled cameras, and what'd I randomly run into?
http://digital-photography-school.co...sync-flash.jpg Courtesy of a tutorial on slow-sync flash, and I guess originally from Wes's flickr stream. I'm trying to figure out what to buy to supplement the not so great flip-up flash in my DSLR.. does anyone have experience with the newer nikon flashes? And to keep things on topic.. um.. I'll take some nice bike pics once I have a better lighting setup. |
I love how people ask permission before using your photos. Pretty simple courtesy for something that isn't labeled as Creative Commons. This isn't the first time my stuff has turned up on random sites on the interweb!
As for flashes.. I'd just keep an eye on the used gear listings at Henry's (and/or ebay/cl, I guess). I picked up my Canon flash there. I think as long as it does e-ttl (which is pretty much everything you'd likely be looking at) and has a tilt-head you're golden (depending on what you want it for, that is). |

I've heard good things about the CXP22s but a lot of this depends on the hub and how the whole thing is laced together. I don't think bicyclewheels.com ships to Canada either. What bike are these wheels going on? A fixie?
they use either formula or dura ace hubs, generally, assuming he is talking fixed |
Apparently Charlie is going to have a "town named after him" in the annual awards forum awards. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=367878 :)

they ship to canada via USPS, last time i checked, which is good because you don't get that insane UPS brokerage fee. i also hear they build a really nice wheel.

I got a set of DP18s shipped from Bicycle wheels.com through USPS. I think I owed $60 for customs. That's what I get for being cheap on that one. They are long gone. Home town from now on.
Google says that this is because some Canadian wheel manufacturer was po'd about the unfair competition. EDIT: $60? DP18s on solid gold phils? |
