It's helped me out a couple of times. No joy if someone is willing to pay twice what you are, mind you.

Shiznaz, sounds like a plan - any idea what the bike lock-up situation will be like?
I posted something last night but it looks like our newly upgraded forum ate the post. Attempt #2: I'm going to go on a recon mission to the track today and take some photos. The excitement level is pretty high about the potential for some ridiculous path racing.

Maybe 24 hours notice would be good.. ?
shiznaz: I'll def. be there.
eyefloater: when you heading over to scout that track? If it's after 5:00, drop me an email or call me.

hey I've seen that track before... sometimes when I have no choice but to take the subway, it's right under the bloor danforth viaduct (sp?).....I've always wondered about it too. There is a set of wooden stairs from the school down the embankment to bayview on the southside I think

CV rides tend to be pretty spur of the moment......2-3 hours notice has been the current trend. I just don't know if it would truly be a Critical Vacuum anymore with things like adequate notice or proper organization.
While I am partly being a ******, there is also a certain truth to what I wrote. Being cooped up inside with no plans, surfing bikeforums and finding a ride to go on unexpectedly, then meeting random people and sparkin' an L, and bombing around a route that is determined on a whim by whomever happens to be leading, definitely gives CV a distinctive energy.
Give people notice, and they might start thinking about things like proper bike maintenance, clothing, nutrition, leg-shaving, personal hygeine, etc.
