the one in seattle is an '06. Given the price difference you could fly to Seattle. bring it back and re-sell it for cheaper...

Or.....maybe everybody on these forums (and craigslist) just likes whining.

If it is overpriced, how about you just don't buy it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bianchi-Pista-Co...QQcmdZViewItem

whaddya think that will end for? BTW the 08 Pista Alu frame fork retails for about 1150 + tax........

I know, it is really steep compared to a hack conversion complete for $600, but I guess that seller is at least keepin it real......or something.

jet sanchEz 08-06-08 06:45 PM

It is pretty expensive for CL, the guy would probably be better off putting it up on ebay. In my experience, people on CL are shopping for deals-----anytime I put something up I get tons of lowball offers.

Do those POS $600 conversion sell? There is a Santini for an ungodly sum that has been listed for at least a month now. I'd love that Concept but it is out of my price-range and, if you ask me, it is overpriced.

Does anyone remember when used Concepts went for $400 on ebay? I even bought one once but the guy wouldn't ship it to Canada, damnit.

Yep, got in around six fifteen due to dinner being ready.

Covered in mud might I add. The look on my girlfriends face was amuzing when I brought the crusty rig in.

Tomorrow = new post, possibly new rear tire, possibly shinpads, and a don ride if I can move. Let me know if any of you are in for a don ride, Id love to meet some of you I havent yet, and ride trail with any of you. My schedules pretty clean, especially fore the afternoon.

I have some beef with the second half of the sewage treatment plant that I need to deal with... damn roots chipped mah shin!

sorry for all the dirt talk, im waiting on a certain thing to come around before i start a new fixed build, and until then playing in dirt is my outlet.kthxbai1

pyze-guy 08-06-08 07:24 PM

Nice frame on CL right now for the shorter people out there. Great price if all is good with the frame.

Really?

Everywhere i've seen it listed including bens cycle (granted the US prices) were around $575 plus tax for the 08 pista concept. Bianchi just messed up on how many they shipped out, creating a nintendo wii like demand for them.

This could be the beginning of a chicken/egg argument that just keeps going, so suffice it to say I was merely providing an apples to apples comparison of pricing on a new Pista Concept frame/fork.

If I was going to whine, I would do it over something worthwhile like text in a bicycle's paint job.

Did you get it? An awesome looking frame. For you (looks too small) or you wife?

Not yet. Someone offered him a slightly higher amount to hold it until tomorrow. I'll know then if its gone or not. 52cm is a c-c measurement, so it is likely 53 or 54 c-t, giving it a 53ish TT, which is perfect for me.

pyze-guy 08-06-08 08:19 PM

Will, Ryan, sorry I missed DSR after seeing you both, lost rack of time and realized at 8:45 I had 2 bike both in too many pieces to make it by 9:15. Next week I hope to make it and show off the new 'Ode to Rob' ride.

Doesn't look like I'll get it. Bummer.

I have a friend up north with a huge number of old bikes in his yard (he runs a bike business). He got rid of several tons for scrap already, and a collector from Montreal picked up some nice road frames, but I have him combing through looking for track frames for me. I'll see in a couple of weeks what he finds.

If your friend finds any larger track frames lying around, I may express interest. You all know im looking for the next build. If he happens to mention, thanks krusty!

Remember kids, it dont break if its fixed.

EDIT: im sorry, i can be kinda abrupt when studying. im studying trials moves. no i dont have a life.

[...]

Was I whining? I have no idea what a fair price for that bike/frame is. The one in WA seems like a really good deal.

Ride tonight was a lot of fun - we ended up in the west end on the lakeshore trail.

Wil - sorry we left you behind with a flat in the ghetto!

Rob - come to a DSR ride with yo' capo... I want to see those shamal/phil wheels sparkle like a $50K grill...

The difference is one is fresh while the other has been built and ridden. American prices will always be cheaper. The theory of economies of scale teaches us that when American suppliers buy thousands of times more product then Canada they can sell it for that much cheaper.

On the '08 Pista front: Production is now offshore which has dropped the price. The bike is actually called the Pista Alu and Bianchi will be the last to tell you it isn't 100% produced in Italy but the first to say it is hella cheaper. Older Pista Concepts are in demand and I salute the CS seller, he'll get his money or sit and wait just like he said, good for him.

And lastly......Operator, Vet.Youth is easily one of the coolest guys I've met and is fast enough to ride whatever the **** he wants. I bit my tongue a few times in the past, especially when you chirped a guy offering to GIVE you something FREE about it's weight. Unless I'm wrong we are all on here for the same reason which is to share our common interest in bikes, not **** disturb. If that's your goal maybe a new " I feel like being a penis" thread is in order.

veteran_youth 08-07-08 04:46 AM

Dude, even my RACE rhino has like, no writing at all on it.

I_bRAD 08-07-08 04:48 AM

Happy birthday Shamil!

Hey herbie, that's not my intention at all. If you think i'm out of line with a comment feel free to call me out on it just as I did with Vet. Youth.

Sorry if my post came out like that (I know what you're referring to), real weight typically differs from what is claimed, that was all. I would've gladly payed for anything I received without hesitation from anyone here

I come across differently than intended sometimes, so please feel free to come punch me in the face or pm me if you so desire (this invitation extends to vet. youth).

Herbie_Glick 08-07-08 08:02 AM

I don't want to punch you in the face. Just saying we're all buddies lets keep it that way. The way people offer stuff up free to each other in here or help out with tech stuff amazes me. Definetly not something I have come across in any other "scene".

Pyze, no worries on missing the ride. I flatted (surprise, surprise) at Queen and Jamieson....."this ain't Kansas" haha fastest flat fix ever.

Actually, nothing says yellow jersey like a ton of googly eyes glued to your bike! I got my eye on you Lance!

Flimflam 08-07-08 08:40 AM

Definitely saw Mitch on my way west across the city, saw another group on Carlton (only saw blue rims, no idea who was on the bike :p)

I favoured copious amounts of beer and wings last night... One day I'll manage my time better and get out to more rides.
