Here are some quick and dirty shots of the lugs. I am pretty happy overall with the job that Jet-Kote did I just wish that Razesa themselves had done a better job of making the "R" embossed into the seat-stays a bit more defined and deeper. They are pretty shallow and I will have to paint the "R" on myself. I didn't give them the fork, I did it myself and the black "R" on the brake-bridge was also done by me, I just filled the embossings with black enamal paint (same with the fork).

nice lookin' frame jet!
riding out there tonight SUCKS balls... everything is super slushy and the tidal waves of slush caused by passing cars is a little much to bear.

i broke down and bought a waterproof breathable cycling jacket for the first time ever after riding in the wet wet snow to work this afternoon.
what scared me most about the commute was the ice hardpack that seemed to form under the layers of slush that you had to basically ride a straight line on top of and hope for the best (i suppose it was one hell of a warm up ride for those of you riding the ice races!). i'm glad to have had the fixie but i would have liked wider tires for this occasion. when i came out of the restaurant my lock had frozen and and there was a layer of ice all over the frame and wheels and even enough ice in my bell to render it useless, emitting nothing but the sound of plastic hitting a block of ice. i know it's not all that practical for toronto weather but for these occasions, having a surly pugsly would be a nice luxury.
oh and "up yours, children" to all you snow-dayers.

Cool, thanks guys, I am glad y'all like it. I didn't get as much done today as I'd hoped as I had a lot of shoveling to do but the overall look of the bike will be close to this photo. That gnarly old seat post is not staying, that is just for using in the stand, I have a nice Dura Ace post to go in there to match the Dura Ace down-tube shifters I have for it. Everything else is Shimano 600 with the bar/stem being Cinelli and the wheelset a new-to-me Shimano RH540. Oh yeah, and that stem is coming way down, I just noticed in the photo that I have it up high for when I wrapped the bars.

I dropped it off on a Friday and it was ready the next Friday. But they didn't call me, I called them, so I am not really sure when it was completely finished. They are funny that way, sometimes I am afraid that it will get lost in the factory somewhere. There were a bunch of other frames there, at least five, so I guess the word it out. It is a good thing because they will be more experienced at coating bikes, I just hope the price doesn't go up. I think that $75 is a good price for a blast and coat.

it's one of those MEC 'hydrocycle' jackets. it seems pretty well made for the price: taped seams, single layer (ie not bulky) waterproof fabric, nice long arms etc. if you can stomach a bright orange colour it's on sale for $99.
i like the paint job on that razeza. next time i need a frame painted i'm going there instead of taking it to biseagal (who had my frame for almost a year).

Oh yeah.. Mike and I went for a ride this morning and my feet were absolutely sopping wet when I got home. And that was wearing winter bike shoes. I think Mike's feet got pretty wet despite him wearing booties over his shoes too.

Man that's a gorgeous looking frame + bike there, jet.
I just got my MTB on the road and took it for a quick spin around the block - the sidestreets here still have like 1-2" of hardpack under the heavy fluffy stuff - crazy, but fun. I took the fixe out for some skid related fun just on my street to warm up for shovelling, heh.
The majors look slushtastic still in these here parts, but rideable - I tried to ride down the non-shovelled part of my driveway but didn't get too far, 6" is apparently too thick for practical use. I do love the extra security I feel on the MTB vs. road bike, it's like lying down on the ground vs. standing on tiptoes in these conditions - so much more stability on the hardpack/crap.
