Well, you are talking about a bunch of people with like 3% body fat.
Apparently there were wind gusts of 70km/h. ugh. I feel bad for anyone who chose any of the high-profile carbon wheelsets with cross winds like that! I definitely saw some pictures from yesterday with people running Zipp 404s and other similarly deep wheels.

On the commentary yesterday they were discussing the issues of the deep dish pizza wheels getting filled with water on days like yesterday. Yea, leave it to a Canadian to be able to grunt out a win in such gross conditions, all those years playin' in the winter pay off. There was a shot of one of the racers full out of the saddle into the wind...it looked like his rain jacket was going to get shredded right off his back it was blowing so hard.

I'm amazed at the correlation between scotch whiskey and cycling... drink a lot of it myself although mostly blends on account of cost and so on. When visiting the in-laws in the US, I always grab a bottle of Macallan at Sam Club, goes for about $37 per litre there. Arrgh. Anyway, that $30000 bottle is sitting in the Summerville station, and get this, the price is actually $29999.80 plus deposit.

Toyota's 4x4 track is open by the water on Queens' Quay by the Star. It's been setup that if you were to haul ass from the road you'd have a straight line to what looks to be a big dirt covered fun box.
Thirty grand for a bottle of anything you might even remotely imagine drinking is insane. (IMHO) Insanely rare and antique bottles of wine that will never get drunk are also fabulously insane in their pricing but I see the collectability aspect of it. Sorta kinda... man if you got the coin...

there is always, always something better to do with $30000 (and i'm someone who likes his whiskey). that's more than i paid for five years of university. come to think of it i think the whiskey is more useful...

Hey guys, I *might* be out for tonight. The gf has been in India for 3 1/2 weeks but I just missed a call from her cell, so she might have come back early and is calling me from the plane or something. I am so horn, er---excited!

ToC comment: Dave Zabriskie's moustache is ridiculous.
"Without his mustache, Dave Zabriskie says he could have placed in the top 5 of Sunday's Tour of California prologue."

What part of India? After being back now for 1 1/2 years, I so miss being there, but am glad I don't live there anymore. A real love/hate with the country.
