It doesn't seem to be raining any more, but it's still grey and blustery. No idea on the ride -- no updates on devilstriprollers.com yet (or the DSR twitter feed). If I were to guess I'd say it'll be canceled. I can't make it to the ride tonight anyway as a friend is defending her PhD dissertation today. Celebrations are in order for this evening! :)

Herbie_Glick 03-19-08 05:12 PM

I'm an idiot!

Herbie_Glick 03-19-08 06:32 PM

Alright, no rain yet and the cancel was a little late going out. I'm going to head down to dundas square and see if anyone headed down, we'll head out of there for a short ride at 9:15. Sorry for the confusion, I'll do my best to not let it happen again. :) ~WM

Common, diversify your sport portfolio.

It was but a few hours. I was expecting it to be gone all weekend, and then return on Monday as our Saviour.

I'd check everything over very closely, especially the carbon fork. Check the tubes and bottom bracket for any rust. If its clean, then that seems like a decent price.

its fixed speed biek!

nerdsgirth 03-20-08 01:04 PM

It would have to be in pretty good condition for that price I think. There are a lot of IRO fans out there. There is a steel nishiki in the snowbank in my backyard. My neighbor may give it to your for a song. pm me if interested...

Also check out one of Polly's recycle "Zombie" frames. I have ridden one for 2 years now and think it is pretty good (besides the paintjob). I believe he is selling frame and fork for 300.

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-08 01:11 PM

Alleycat check point people!!!! Keith says Friday @ 7 at La Carrera.
wooohoooo

There is an older Steve Bauer fixie conversion locked up on Queen /leslie outside the retirement home... it's had a back flat for about a week now. I'm afraid for it. Wondering if somebody knows who's it is? Running a front brake, Alex rims, race blade rear fender.

tuz 03-20-08 01:21 PM

"fixed speed" is funny. I was gonna make some snide comment but then we also say single speed :)

About Polly... There was a post on CL about somebody finding a stolen bike there :(

TRaffic Jammer 03-20-08 01:25 PM

Polly's usually pretty careful about that for the most part. He bought my sister in laws bike from the crackhead that stole it and then waited to seee me and told me. He also thought he saw someone else on my bike and made sure he asked as well. It was a twinner.
He may be odd, but hey.. who isn't. I'd not hold it against him, I doubt he makes a gig of hot bikes like some places we know of.

tuz 03-20-08 01:40 PM

I don't know... He might be well intentioned but he does sell bikes. Buying stolen bikes only encourages more thefts. If I saw a stolen bike I'd call the police. But I guess the police wouldn't come in a split second and engage a pursuit...

so... anybody has scrap MKS pedals? I need to replace the lock nut on one of mine (GR-9) and it's an oddball size.

Zabriskie may have now become my favourite rider.
