So I rode the Lesley Spit today...Funny I've lived in Toronto for years, and in the area most of my life...and I have never been out there...pretty cool! The only problem was that I had a bad case of "gotta go potty"... Lemme tell ya, the ride back to Tim Horton's at Lakeshore was torture, especially the speed bumps! OOOH!
Bumped into Gokiburi before the ride too. Good seeing ya! We're practically neighbours!
Anyways, hope you guys have a great weekend. I'm heading out of town tomorrow, so I will talk to you guys later!

Hey guys....haven't heard from anyone this week...how's everyone doing? I think I may be heading to London this weekend to check out the new velodrome...I'm catching a ride with a buddy on Saturday if our bikes come in (donating a couple to the velodrome).

Hey Toronto fellas,
Sorry to crash the party... I was in Toronto a few weeks ago on tour and, while unpacking at a friend's house, saw a guy coming out of the house across the street with a sweet black and chrome Marinoni pista (one of the new TIG'ed ones)... I think it might've had red decals? In any case, it was a beautiful bike. He sped off before I could ask him about it, but I figured that it was probably one of you guys or at least someone that you guys know. If it was one of y'all, sweet bike.
Your talk of bun rides makes me jealous.

been there and done that today (Kim Moon bakery that is)..... yumm.
as for the marinoni track bike? who knows, I've seen hundreds upon hundreds of fixed gear bikes in toronto but only 15 or less fixed riders that post here (I'm not saying that this forum is suppose to be some central hub for people who ride fixed). But I'm quite sure that we DON'T have the same 'united' fixed or single speed community that some big cities in the US seem to have. But they are around.... lots of them.
Speaking of which; going home over the Bloor/Danforth bridge last friday I guess it was, I saw a dude hauling ass on one of those BikeFriday folding bikes converted to fixed gear. A really tidy bike, skinny 20" wheels with a huge overloaded mess bag on his back. Seen a couple on the FGG but didn't think they were that common.......it was neat.

I only personally know of 2 Marinoni Track Riders in the city (both Bright Orange)...that being said...I know La Bicicletta sells Marinoni Track...So if its a new one...That could be where it came from.
I know a few fixie riders in the city...and see quite a few every day
Wasted Weasel--- You have me hungry for the Kim Moon!

Hey I am getting some Jerseys done...too bad I didn't put pork buns on them!!
The donut ride is pretty fast...the guys who lead it are fairly serious and look down on slow riders and those who aren't used to group rides in tight quarters (mainly cause many of them tend to be a little dangerous)...I've only done it a couple times...but its been so long...that I consider myself a virgin again
When I did do it, it was on a road bike...not sure how our Fixies will fare...I won't do it unless I put a brake back on...not safe with that many riders otherwise.
