I'm tempted to start using it in code to see if the mods ever come in here. The Apple Ripe Caught Kite Bike Idea Kick Elmo Dot Come O Moron.

I hope to be able to leave/be at Pottery for 5. No time for a little nudge nudge wink wink, know what I mean.

Don ride was fun. Actually, check that. The first half when I wanted to faint every 5 minutes wasn't gads of fun per say, but the second half of the ride was fun. Finally manning up and riding that bit on the river trail under the train tracks (as a train passed overhead) was definitely fun, as was making it up the dirt path next to the Exorcist stairs at Riverdale park (go tree stump-pulling gear).

Come on immune system, you've had a glimpse of the world that awaits you ... just be done with this stupid cold so we can get back out there again and enjoy spring!

It was fun. And the 3 coolest looking bikes on the trails.

shapelike 05-08-08 05:38 PM

Fair enough, and it certainly was an eclectic bunch!

kergin 05-08-08 05:44 PM

Well this sucks - my work/school schedule leaves me basically no time to ride for 4 months, except for my commute and late night rides. Oh well, when in Rexdale, pickup cheap Indian food for dinner!

Also, seriously considering a u-lock holster, so I can quickly swing at the buggers that cut me off on Eglinton & Weston rd.

Can anyone recommend a PHP (5) book that doesn't completely suck? I'm a novice programmer in general.

So how was the Don? I was supposed to go, then the person I was going with thought it would be too wet still, so we put it off. D'oh.

PHP & MySQL Web Development

Its a decent book that combines both topics. Ultimately, you'll end up writing LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) or WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, PHP) applications, so its handy to have a MySQL reference.

O'reilly books are great, but Deitel are not.

There were a few puddles and some tacky spots? I looked at my shins and there were about 10 drops of mud per leg. The off-camber sections were definitely sketchier than usual, but other than that it was fine ... no sections of full-on soup like earlier on in the season.

how much you want for them?

freecycle 05-08-08 08:35 PM

FINISHED!!!!

i can come to trail now, YAAAAY!!!

new hanger, new bottom bracket, now deore shifter, new chain, wheel trued, headset repacked, and it only took two afternoons! Mostly because I didnt have a big enough wrench for a while..

anyone have an extra long 1in. seatpost in black? i will trade you an average lenth 1in. black seatpost, or a mildly used KMC chain, road brake levers, chrome dropbars, etc. the post on this ***** is SO short, it was good for jumping and technical trail, but for open areas it burns.

well heres the story... a thursday like 3-4 weeks ago i was walking near work, after having climbed for 4 hours, and worked on my bike (covered in chalk and grease), and this random woman ran out of a restaurant and chased me down. When she caught me she says "Hey can i talk to you?" then looks at my friends and says "not you, keep walking", turns back to me and goes "Have you ever tried modeling?" so i laugh hysterically, she hands me a card, some guy follows her out of the restaurant and starts yelling "fabulous" and "amazing" and "money". somehow i managed to hear the third one through my laughing, but i didnt think anything of it.
I go home and google the stuff on the card, anyway, the guy is one of the biggest names in the male model world, and runs an agency...
So on the friday, i go in (like really what can it hurt? might make a quick buck) and i talk to them for a bit, then he takes like 3 face shots, and sends them off... then a scout from milan (for gucci) hauls ass over from his hotel room to meet me, takes a couple pictures, sends them off... anyway, i had been told i might go to paris for the summer to do catwalk, but i got a call today telling me im off to milan some time next week, and might be back in august....

650$ a per job (thats like 2 hours work, of walking like 120m and pausing for 10 seconds)

*crickets chirp in the awkward silence*

anyway... yea...

anyone got a chris king headset, and some road drops, bar tape? i wanna set up my bike before i am banned from riding a bike for a whole summer (well... im not allowed to ride a bike, as of when i first met them... yea right... no fun stuff at all really... right near the alps, but no speedboarding/street luge... no biking, road or mountain, no rock climbing)

now im going downstairs (im at work) to see if i can fit my bike, in a bike box, inside a duffel bag (might be able to sneak it over)

i say any experience you have that has the opportunity to create some great stories is worth trying. if for nothing else than to travel to freaking italy on the company's dime! why no riding / climbing? lack of time or strict rules from the modeling ruling body? you could always explain to them that cycling keeps you in peak physical, and hence beefcake, condition...

BTW i have some 46cm 26.0 (and some 39cm, 25.4) road drops you can have if you want em.

EDIT: imagine how much bike stuff you could buy with all that money.

jeremywhitehorn 05-08-08 08:53 PM

hey pyze - thanks for taking all that stuff off my hands. the backs of my friends who are helping my move will thank you. i realized i also have more sets of MTB tires and another set of wheels (silent clutch, need some work though) if you need spares.

^^^ i agree wholeheartedly, if thery offer it DO IT. there is no way you can turn that kind of opportunity down! and then you can go into acting, and make bajillions of dollars, and let us come play in your enourmous private forest and velodrome.

~Stuart~ 05-08-08 08:54 PM

i know they dont want me climbing (scrapes'n'****) and biking was one of those iffy things... so im going to try and get my bike over there and do what you said... use it to keep fit

if all else fails, im sure there is a half decent bike manufacturer in italy that would make a bike for me ;)

oh and when i have a bajillion dollars, i'll buy you all cervelo tarck bikes (read aerospokes, HED fronts, risers and ourys(sp?) and platforms) to race on my custom 8 corner velodrome

anyone else up for a late night ride on sunday :D

~Stuart~ 05-08-08 09:45 PM

Cool, if I make it down there I`ll ask around for you. I should be easy to see, having handlebars with me.

Chocolate is good, now that I`m teaching, no more baked goodies everyday.
On an unrelated note I seen to have lost weight the last 3 weeks. I wonder why.
