Keith are you going to sprints tonight? If so, lemme know and I'll grab you cash for polishing off those wheels for me.

Thanks for posting that, Canice. Great article. I've actually seen it mentioned in a couple other places recently, but I hadn't realized it was available online.

"Suddenly, behind me, two guys half my age blast by me on heavy-duty mountain bikes. As they fly past, one of them looks over and hollers the rider’s rebel yell: “Hammmmerrrrrrr!!!” He flashes an ear-to-ear grin before they veer off to invade the north side of Trinity Bellwoods Park. We share the instant endorphin buzz, but their point is made: cycling is all about pure movement, propelled by something I’m still trying to get a grip on."

Holy crap.. that could totally have been me! :P Anyone here who's ridden with me knows how readily I yell that at complete strangers! :D

That's right, I do!

pyze-guy 05-15-08 01:35 PM

Man, I think I can sing every Raffi song word for word now.

So I should be able to go to the Don anywhere between 5-6, but no sprints. One or the other is as understanding as my wife gets. What time are people, Wes/Mike etc thinking of going?

TRaffic Jammer 05-15-08 01:37 PM

The verdict is in.. the new The Black Keys disk kicks butt.
Never used nutterbutter.... good stuff?

I'll be there around the same time as I was on Tuesday. Give me a call if you want to meet.

I've only used one brand.. I don't use it regularly, but it's nice if you're gonna be in the saddle for an extended period of time as well as if you've spent some time off the bike. Saddle sores are bad, mm'kay?

shapelike 05-15-08 02:01 PM

I'm probably going to be there earlier on. I've got to go to the shop first but I'll make a post from there before I head out.

Weel Kathy is sick so not sure about the Don ride tonight. I'll give you a shout Wes if I'm able to make it around 6:30ish.

Going to hit the sprints though I hope.

you can either meet at 8:45 at the south side of grange park (which is just north of urbane) which is usually just a small group coming in from the east or you can meet at the ontario place parking lot thing at 9

Fuzzz 05-15-08 09:32 PM

Fun night of hanging out and goofing around at the Sprints. Was good to see everyone...

~Stuart~ 05-15-08 10:06 PM

"Hi, Im a security guard at ontario place, i couldn't make it as a cop so i spend my nights stealing bike lights off guys who didn't know they were doing anything wrong. then i'm going to be a dick about it"

on another note, that kicked ass. my bike computer says i clocked 48.99km/h during one run, which im very happy with, only lost one race (to corey i believe. that makes it him 1 and me 1)

and it was awesome putting more faces to names. and when Will (i hope thats the right person hahaha) asked me if i had a lock with me(after the nobjockey security guard first took my light) i couldn't figure out what was going on, i was wondering if he had like expected me to hit them with it, or like lock my bike up and hop the fence and go after them... hahahaha i was throughly confused.

ps: whats with the DSR group on crackbook being restricted (or thats what is says when i tried to join it)

IIRC I think for dsr group you have to be a member of the toronto group first.

nerdsgirth 05-16-08 06:20 AM

You got your light stolen?!?!? by a security cop? safety first. Sorry I missed DSR this week. I wanted to.

Agreed pyze, you have to be part of the facebook Toronto group ... I see you changed you profile to Milan already ;)

I_bRAD 05-16-08 06:51 AM

So sprints are on Thursdays now, or was it a rain date?

TRaffic Jammer 05-16-08 07:20 AM

He stole your light?

Stuart left his lights to mark the finish line, security drove by, stopped and picked them up just after Fuzzz and I rode by. Should have seen Stuart hauling ass trying to catch the van.
