Does anyone else think a bike track in Toronto would be a lot of fun and also make pretty decent money?
I do.
I do.
Shiftless bum
Yep, but it's a question of where you'd put the silly thing, property prices in Toronto being what they are. If Toronto had nailed the summer olympics we'd get one for sure. But then the down side is Toronto would have the summer olympics. I think a velodrome down where they're planning on putting in the Walmart on Eastern would be a fine idea.

Although I suspect it would get a lot busier than Forest City and busy usually means less fun!
Financially? In "Toronto" perhaps but most certainly not anywhere near downtown - the amount of space you needed for a proper velodrome would cost a bloody fortune!
Wes? Any word on the centennial bike park?

Only because I didn't get a Prada job (that would pay after there cut $13,000) because my thighs/calf's are too big for there pants. I could do with a pick me up... I wanna ride my bike...

urbane has a bunch of different colours of shwalbe stelvios... i've got a new / in box neon green one i'd be happy to part with for what i paid for it...
one thing to think about re: brightly colours tires / fixed gear riding... you're likely to go through tires (rear, specifically) a lot faster... fancy coloured tires tend to be a) more expensive and b) less durable... stick to black or grey, you'll be happy you did.

That being said, I have a few blue tyres if you want to recover my cost for them (fine for front usage, I wouldn't recommend back unless you're never going to skip/skid).
Bummer Stuart - can you get yourself a cruiser bike, any bike is better than none!

so I'm going to a market to get a bike tomorrow... I'm not sure how comfortable I will be buying a bike there (90% stolen bikes) I don't know if I can buy a stolen bike.
im going to go buy an old school single speed (like moustache bars and bars instead of cables for the brakes... and they pull up on the rim (not pinch)) should be pretty sweet... but for 650 euros...

Please don't buy from a stolen bike market. Thieves don't need the encouragement.

Just saw someone eat **** so hard in front of the shop. He's okay but his ego has got to be severly bruised. Cute girls walking along Harbord and he gave them a look back and high sided....too good.

I've never rubber-necked a hottie and bailed because of it, but I did once end up lying on someone's trunk because I was trying to diagnose a derailleur issue and forgot about the road in front of me.
So I says to Mable I says

Yep. I actually emailed you guys earlier in the Spring to make sure it wasn't the same weekend as the 24 Hrs of Hot August Nights again, and was relieved when you weren't. Then a couple of weeks later I realized the film fest was on the same weekend as the biggest 24 Hr race in Ontario. D'oh!

Man, I pulled a total newbie move the other week. I was fiddling around with my straps (this is on my cheapie hybrid btw). They were set up incorrectly forever, so after running them correctly, I was trying to get used to adjusting them while riding before I got my fg built up. I was slowing down as I approached Queen on Beverly, reached down to loosen my right strap, unconsciously squeezed the brake a little harder, which kinda scared me and made me squeeze even harder.
Up and over the bars I went. Weeeeeeeeee!
Thankfully it was deserted, but boy did I ever feel like a schmuck.

It was a hardcover book so I guess that is why I went down----always try to get softcover books out of the library if you are a mentally handicapped person, you will have less accidents that way.
