****ty news on the stolen bikes. i hope all bikes thieves suddenly implode, i'll keep my eyes peeled for them.

on another note, anyone have a rough guess how much the average bike courier makes per week? im starting to have to pay form some expensive certifications and need the extra money so im looking to get a second job most likely in january->april and was wondering what kind of money a courier would be making.

It's official: Cyclocross season has begun. First Tuesday night training race was last night. Had a blast, minus the mosquitos. Felt awesome but skills were very rusty. Couple of questionable remounts. heheheh. Got 11th in the race, right on Lorne's (aka. fast S1 guy) wheel.. muahahahaha.. Seemed like lots more carbon out there.. even the noobs!

Also: That's lookin' toight like a toiger, Shammy buddy! Can't wait to see it IRL.

Kudos to Smith optics for standing behind their product.

I got a set in 2000 and had been using them pretty much every single day ever until they died earlier this summer. Since I'd never had a pair of glasses last 8 years before breaking before I figured I'd check out what they were making these days for my replacement. I noticed on their website that they had "lifetime warranty" and sent an email asking if they had that 8 years ago. Long story short- today I got my new pair (my choice) in the mail. I guess I'd say I'll never buy anything else... but looks like I wont have to!

:D

Dude that's rad as hell.

Was an awesome night for riding tonight, hauled ass around the city dragging my roomate along from about 8 PM to 10:30, poor dude is on the verge of heart failure ;)

C.S. Peeps: Does Kona sell the '09 Major Jake as a frameset ... and any idea on MSRP? Thanks.

Back to Canadia tomorrow. Honestly, I'd be happy to stay in Iceland even longer but I'm already in enough school debt as it is - I don't need to be in vacation debt on top of that. ;)

Anyway, on Saturday I plan on being a jet-lagged pile of uselessness but if anyone wants to go for a ride (in the Don?) on Sunday morning I believe a plan is already in the works with Fuzzz and Somnabu-pants. Do be a dear and join in the fun.

PS. Discovery: "Viking" beer is actually damn good.
PPS. We've seen two Surly LHTs here and a grand total of three "real" mountain bikes. Not a single ss/fg to speak of ... actually, no roadie scum either. I've seen a fair amount of bmx riders though and I know serious mountain riding goes on in the interiour, but I don't think those bikes ever see much of Reykjavik.

cavit8 09-04-08 12:18 PM

Damned bike salmon! I got hit by two fools on mountain bikes as I was turning right and they were screaming along the sidewalk and the bike lane going the wrong way. No major damage, just two broken spokes. They then crossed the street and hit an old lady standing on the sidewalk.

krusty 09-04-08 01:01 PM

What a gorgeous fall day for a ride! ...and to take some mediocre pictures of a new toy...
