I think I was talking Friday night at the pub about this handheld traffic guage you could get on the West coast of the US. Well, coincidentally I just saw a blog post about it and found out more information. Maybe I had this conversation at work though, I'm not sure. :)

operator 05-07-06 07:24 PM

Uh traffic guage? It tells you what colour the light is? I'm still waiting on that cell phone jammer. You didn't say nothing about it.

My humblest apologies. Sunday is my ride day so I was not here yesterday. Chris...my fill in guy....doesn't have a complete handle on our stock and overlooked our economical fixie wheels. Consider the inconvenience and disappointment worthy of a 20% discount. Again my apologies but I have to get a ride in sometime ;)

Rob Bikeophile had his bike locked up at MEC while across the street having some lunch. Some scumbag managed to make off with his well broken in Brook's saddle while it was there. Don't succumb to a false sense of security. I am a little ways from the core but all are welcome to lock up at the shop...and rest assured...NO ONE will **** with your rig

I'm so lucky that I get to park in the Executive's Underground here at work. Quite secure.
Inaccessible to public. Had my birthday(40th)... OMG fun!!!!!! My lovely wife and kids got me 40 gifts and hid them about the house and then my daughters made clues, .... too much fun, I'm a lucky guy.
Books, clothes, new bike pants, jacket and shoes on the way....SHOES!!!!!
But the COOLEST BY FAR is this silver bike chain ring they got me, built just like an actual bike chain but immobile (it is a ring afterall). I have a couple pics of it I can upload this evening, can't stop looking at it. Hope everyone had a good time at JetFuel, and had a good week-end.

I have to lock up on UofT campus, which I can only imagine is a great thief target. ugh. I'm considering starting to bring my bike upstairs with me every morning. That's what I did in my old job, but I had an enclosed cubicle there with room for my bike plus I was only on the 2nd floor. Here we have a tiny elevator, I'm on the 4th floor, and everyone's cubicles face away from the centre of the room (ie. no enclosure).

TRaffic Jammer 05-08-06 07:16 AM

Man, I could NEVER lock up outside at the university. It's like a giant shopping mall there.

emilio82 05-08-06 07:21 AM

Anyone here looking for a 1" threaded track fork? I have a pearl Rossin track fork, with purple logos on the forks. Its steer tube should be long enough to put on a 54-ish frame.

I am leaving the city on Thursday morning, and am willing to let it go for $20. I live at Roncesvalles and Queen.

jeremywhitehorn 05-08-06 08:12 AM

these days i'm lucky enough to be able to bring my bike inside at work and stash it in our storage room. don't even need to lock it there. i used to have to lock it outside at yonge/bloor and i never had anything stolen, maybe i'm just lucky. i think the ticket is to use two differnent kinds of locks. maybe a heavy NY lock that you can leave where you normally lock up and a lighter cable lock. loop the cable through both wheels and up through the saddle if there's room. it's a pain, but if you're only lock/unlocking once a day, not a big deal. i'm thinking i'll go back to this plan when i start at george brown in the fall.

Man I remember when a dentist poked the needle through the side of my mouth and froze the wrong tooth and once hitting a nerve with the drill Eeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwwww.,,, but this is truth , I told my present dentist while he was leaning over me poking at a tooth once (that I am going to grab him by the balls and that we are are'nt going to hurt each other are we !! ) and I have felt no pain ever since that :D

they GAS me I am in and out the whole time,, hey how much does your dentist charge? I live near there

TRaffic Jammer 05-08-06 08:42 AM

he's fairly reasonable and he works well with my insurance.
I was there last week and he's still taking new patients. Alice in the front is an absolute sweetheart.

jeremywhitehorn 05-08-06 08:44 AM

i read somewhere that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession. probably stems from the fact that all of your patients don't really want to see you, that their only memories of you are of pain and discofort. i guess they start to take it personally. they should do double duty as massage therapists so their patients have something to look forward to.
