fine, people can sleep and cycle. I'll give you that.

but the other comments are still ********. favorite still saying that using a rear brake in the rain will make you crash, but a fixed gear wont.

im officially bored

the difference in the distance traveled by a pedal mounted on a 165 and a 175 crank only about 62.8mm, and if i change to 165mm cranks, my hip will bend 1.5* less then with my 175mm cranks... yea im BORED and cant sleep... so i could be way off, and if i am im blaming my lack of sleep.

Plain being wrong is fine as long as someone tells you why you're wrong. A lot of people jumped all over CJolsen for the rear brake comment, generally in ways that were less than educational. If you think that's bad, you should have been here when Merton was posting in the main forum.

so i had to go to etobicoke last night for the daily bread food bank's AGM (i'm an member agency representative)... i was sitting at a table with some random people, and mentioned to the lady beside me that i had ridden my bike to get there. she responded by asking if i had lights, which i assured her i did. at the end of the event, we said goodbye and she watched me pick up my pannier and helmet to leave. as i was unlocking my bike (and putting my lights on) the lady walked by me and said "oh! you really are going to ride your bike!"

I routinely "fool" people by telling them I ride, but really my bike is a transformer that changes into a 4-axle truck. That freaks them right out.

Seriously, wtf... It's clear she didn't think you were serious - is it that hard to comprehend? Heh.

jyossarian: I've had soju (how it was spelled there) at some Korean restaurants, the last one I went to was near Bloor/Christie (inbetween Christie and Shaw, on the north side but I forget the name). As for yakitori, I've no idea what it even is - Keele/Bloor kind of area has a bunch of Korean-themed/Korean places if that's the ethnicity for yakitori. Good luck finding that stuff, have a good trip up. A quick search on Toronto.com also yielded no help for yakitori.

natboy: I don't want to step on anyones toes but I know from personal experience Urbane (Queen/John) are able to do a fast turn around on truing/spoke replacement - I did exactly the same before I rode to the Niagara region the second time last year.

Imagine, people riding their bikes to get to places, madness. If this keeps up we risk being examples for urban living.

You had no idea there was such a thing as yakitori bars or sho chu? I'm thinking I might have to do the Korean grill as you suggested. Know any good spots that serve soju (the Korean version of sho chu)? Karaoke is optional since that it makes me cringe.

edit: Bubbles! Let's go stuff our faces when I get up there!

The Korean Grill House on Queen. A popular night spot for the asian eat-drink-and party crowd. All you can eat raw meat/fish plates are reasonably priced. Indeedy we should.

Geez, I could have sworn there was a full moon tonight. Riding to and from Little India I had four close encounters of the foolish motorist kind. Unreal.

Yeah mine too, not sure if it's "DL" specific but it was the stock option from the build kit and it's definitely an Orbit. I've got 4100 miles on the Rob Roy now and it's fine, though I do want to service the HS soon as I'm feeling a bit of grittiness in there now.

I gave kol.klink, who I haven't seen for a while, an old 50cm Apollo frame. If he's not using it he might pass it off to you if you want to build something up.
