I wonder about a lot of the commuters questioned in that survey.. Unless they magically only chose the most hardcore riders or something. The majority of people on road bikes? I don't know about that. The vast majority ride every day? Maybe they do, but only weather permitting. If it's raining or Winter I see FAR less people out there. etc, etc, etc. But I guess at least it's a sign that some major media outlets are paying some attention to cyclists for a change.
I saw a guy yesterday on harbord. Looked like he was maybe in his 50s (grey hair, etc). Dirty clothes. Big "construction worker" boots on platforms (with the standard "heels on pedals, toes pointed out" stance). And he was riding a Look framed (or at least a frame with large Look logos) fixie (potentially a single speed I guess). Is it wrong that I automatically assume it's stolen?
Anyone riding today?

I thought that area was just camera stores and pawn shops? I'll explore if nothing turns up at the Shack.

Anyone know what the hell is going on with Toronto's trail networks?! The waterfront trail is still shut down past the CNE and now the enterence to the Don MUT (my favourite when it's quiet) is shut down until May '07. Looks like I now have to use the road all the time...

This is likely the reason behind the Don closure:

Not sure what's up adjacent to the CNE. Sort of looked like reconstruction the last time I was by there.

Just got the May/June issue of Canadian Geographic in the mail, and Toronto's Critical Mass was featured in the back pages. Anybody recognize anyone in the pictures?

I gave up on scanning the Canadian Geographic article, software doesn't want to cooperate anymore; check any Chapters/Indigo, they'd probably have the May/June issue on the stands by now.
About my avatar - yes, it's my leg. I think I took the pic a couple week's after my bike/car collision in October, so my thigh was probably bruised slightly. A more recent pic, a few months after the third (in a span of three months!) car/bike collision (no stiches for the first two collisions, then about five on the underside of my right knee for the last in December). Yes, I'm very accident-prone.
