Hey Oscar, I'm doing fine. What's new with you?

I haven't been riding as much as I'd like the past couple of months. Got into a bit of smash-up with a car in early June (fixie, not the roadie)....
so I've been trying to finish up this project as quickly as I can...

Loose screws (http://www.loosescrews.com) sells chromium bearings for around $3-4 US per 100. They also have a mixed package of a number of different sizes. I thought sheldon's prices a little steep. I'm not sure how that plays out against Motion's after shipping.

7 hours lol :|
The last 50km was so boring, you can't believe it. North access road next to the QEW all the way to St. Catharines + head wind.

And this morning coming back I got soaked to the bone twice and then I flatted west of sauga. So then I cheated and didn't complete the back to back century.

The cavern/sneaky-dees cycling club party isn't happening at Sneaky Dee's? Interesting. :)

I might try and pop by for a bit, but I have a non-cyclist friend visiting that weekend.

Right by the abattoir too! URBAN!

cavernmech 09-26-05 12:54 PM

Having the party where it is enabled us to charge $.50 less per beer. Always looking out for the budget minded beer consumer! K.

somnambulant 09-26-05 01:59 PM

That's certainly a good reason! :)

operator 09-26-05 06:02 PM

So you guys want to do a ride before dropping by party? Or after?

Shiznaz 09-26-05 06:36 PM

both?

cavernmech 09-27-05 06:20 AM

If you ride before...save some for the goldsprints! K.

somnambulant 09-28-05 08:49 AM

What time are y'all heading to the pah-tee on Saturday? I just got invited to a friend's bday party on Saturday night also, so I'm trying to figure out a plan of action.

Shiznaz 09-28-05 09:12 AM

I just realized that I may very well be in New York this weekend...

somnambulant 09-28-05 09:20 AM

I just noticed your title.. You're fixed and my gosh don't you know it? :)

201 niagara is a canadian legion hall in case anyone is wondering.. close to the foggy dew pub. pretty easy to spot. hope this helps people looking for it.
i 'd like to go but i've got guests visiting.. let's see if i can drag them out.

eyefloater 09-28-05 06:29 PM

It's that time again: Critical Mass, this Friday. I'll be there if I get off work in time. Anyone else planning on heading out?

operator 09-28-05 08:04 PM

I'd do it if I had a lock for my bike. (Got school during the day).

eyefloater 09-28-05 08:11 PM

On that note, if anyone spots a shop in Toronto get new stock in of the Kryptonite stubby Evolution 2000 lock, please let me know. I've been trying to track down a new lock for ages.

I picked one up a few weeks ago at Cyclepath on Bloor, West of Dufferin.

i've been looking for one since march! a bunch of stores suggest putting your name on a waiting list which might improve your chances, but it's hardly a guarantee. i think it's more a matter of timing. i've randomly gone into stores and have been told that they had a shipment in a week ago and sold out, or that they will be getting a bunch in in a week.. for what it matters, i was shopping for groceries in kensington last week, stopped by bikes on wheels and they said they'd be getting "more" locks in this week. -e

operator, you can leave your bike at my work (wellington/portland) which is what i'll be doing if i make it down. the only drawback is you can't drink later than me. heh..

operator 09-29-05 05:56 PM

I'm actually waiting for one of these.

http://bicyclesource.us/site/images/...molly_05_m.jpg

I'll call and see if Caverns got them tomorrow morning, if yes then expect me at CM.

Too effing heavy for me. If I know I'm going to be locking my bike up for any extended amount of time, I just ride "White Sputter" (****e bikes unite!). Otherwise, I'm all for short u-locks and keeping eye out the window of whatever building I'm in for the moment.

Of course, my u-lock's going to give before that juggernought of a chain ... so *hi5* for showing your bike the love it deserves.

actually.. you'll be amazed how well the weight is distributed when you wear it around your waist. it's also pretty good as a visual deterrent. pair it up with a mini-u around the rear wheel and chances are the thief will go for easier pickings.

eyefloater 09-29-05 09:50 PM

Like I said, if I get off work in time I'll be there.

Keep an eye out for this garbage pile on wheels:
