sounds like a great idea if the weather forecast is accurate.

Right. Is Kensington open on Monday? Heh. I'm feeling the empanadas.

I'd be up for a ride on Monday maybe a bit later than 12:00 on account of many parties happening sunday night.
But whatever time works for everyone else would be good.

mmm... beefpatty and coco bread... I love the Only Cafe's coco bun...
I hate gusty days like today, especially crossing a bridge. I'm either getting gusted into traffic or onto the curb. nice choice. Made a samosa run up to O'Connor and Vic Park what a heinous ride.

Bikes: Menonite black urbanite, probably enough spare parts to make anther one.
thanks for the steak recipies all; i'm interested to experiment with flank steaks. my mom used to make that quite a bit (i guess to save money), now i know how to prepare them. anyway i ended up just straight up grilling my t-bones after rubbing them down with seasonsing salt, turned out marvelous. hope everyone had a good ride on sat.; perfect day for it. i ended up getting rained on while riding out in the sticks but no matter, i needed to get some riding in to balance all the meat eating and beer drinking.
i forgot to ask as well: has anyone here heard about sheldon brown? man, i hope he finds strength somewhere; i'm not sure how i'd deal with it if it were me.

speaking of coffee...
Coming up on TV Ontario, cable 2, Monday,
one of the best economic documentaries of the
past decade:
BLACK COFFEE
Like millions of other java-addicted consumers, you
probably make a beeline for your local coffee shop
every morning, and willingly shell out as much as $4
for a tall, non-fat latte. But what you pay for your
morning fix equals a day's wages for the millions of
workers who harvest the bean. Black Coffee provides
an intriguing glimpse into the dark side of the brew,
which is the second largest trading commodity in
the world after oil, and like sugar, has been
instrumental in promoting the slave trade.

Monday, May 22 at 10:00 PM
(Repeated at 1 am)
PART 2: BITTER BREW -

PART 3: SPECIAL BLEND -

That was a nice relaxing ride-I enjoyed it. Your GF did great, especially for her first distance ride. She'll be doing a century in no time.
I rode up to Newmarket and back on my fixie yesterday.... cross wind from hell. Surprisingly, I really didn't miss having multiple gears. Even on the odd hill it was fine, and I felt pretty fresh even at the end. I didn't appreciate the hail-nasty day.

CV HIJACKING!
As 32flavours' loving former room mate (and considering she is away camping this weekend), I feel that in the need of a good group ride I am going to make a friendly hijacking of CRITICAL VACUUM for the Victoria Day edition.
Anyone down? 9pm at the usual secret meeting place? (parking lot behind Honest Ed's)

Aaand, back.
Garage sales were a bust, but I did end up in Flint, Michigan (at a Nascar-devoted dive bar) to drink some ****e American beer and watch a race. Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Ted Nugent ... not your typical Toronto jukebox selection, but an interesting change of pace.
I hope the FFL training ride went well. Any new-comers this week?
