On my way downtown earlier today, just north of the 401 on Yonge a driver clipped me and dragged me a few metres until I got free and when I knocked on her window at the light, she was oblivious to what she did. I bonked out going back home on Warden after 16th Ave.; serves me right for just taking a few bananas for fuel.

Odds are they would be thicker than mine. I have pretty low index glass, but a weirdo astigmatism. I can totally get away without them though, as long as I don't have to read anything far away (signs/etc).

SS road/cross? Chain length would be the only challenge with vertical drops, but with the right gearing and maybe a half link I imagine you could get it close without going to an ENO eccentric hub. For geared, pretty easy breezy. I have an old Bianchi Grizzly that I use for touring. The only consideration (apart from it being a little on the heavy side) is the use of road levers with cantilever brakes. I needed to use an extra wide hanger for my old bike, otherwise the lever travels through it's range without grabbing hold. I also use 26". I'm not sure if 700's would fit. I should try that, though. Hrrmmmmm....

Do you want to run road type bars or stick with flat style? It shouldn't be difficult to do either way.

Mavic makes these cool brake adapters to use 700c wheels on a 26" frame. They are like the brake boosters of old...except they have a second set of brake posts higher up for the increased wheel diameter.

I had Sachs in mind (ie. not just a welder, but a designer of classics) ... but I suppose youngblood here can lead the revolution for the perfect freeride frame + suspension design. *ahem* Which I require prototypes of.

i just got a pair of these with the prescription lens inserts; they look a bit dork but they work, and you get that bobby julich flair. great for riding and they'll take a strong prescription.

I like how that topic turned into a pro/anti gun debate immediately. However, it seems that at the most basic level, the more guns you have, and the more guns you leave around the house loaded, the more likely you are to shoot your neighbour in the face through several walls by mistake. Lets blame the guy who accidentally shot through the wall, not the guns. But then lets not blame ourselves for letting that guy have more guns than Jesus, becuase he probably would have still accidentally shot through his bathroom mirror with his toothbrush anyways.

Engineering kids need to learn that drinking in excess does not make you cool. The sheer amount of destruction caused by the engineers during frosh week is monumental... take 500 nerdy (male) kids who have mostly never drank before, pickle them with kegged beer and bourbon and then dye them purple, put them in a jumpsuit with a hard hat and set them loose. That way you can either be completely drowning in work, or in booze. What a life!

I did enough drinking in my first year of university, and I wasn't even an engineer.
